Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation (BMGC), also known as Baltimore’s Classic Five Golf, held a Grand Opening and Naming Ceremony for the Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park on Friday, September 30, at Carroll Park Golf Course.

FootGolf is a newly popular sport that combines soccer and golf, challenging players to kick a soccer ball around a traditional golf course into enlarged cups in as few shots as possible.

The Craig Willinger Memorial FootGolf Course at Carroll Park has been created to include 18 holes and was recently accredited by the American FootGolf League. FootGolf can be played on the same course throughout the day as traditional golf and allows for greater use of the existing course by FootGolf players of all ages.

The Craig Willinger Fund (CWFund) was created to show young soccer fans fighting cancer that dreams and amazing experiences can still be part of their future. The nonprofit was started in honor of Craig Willinger, a Highlandtown native who passed away from complications related to a bone marrow transplant in February 2012 as he battled stage 4 chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
