Amateur night is here, so it’s time to figure out your plans. If you’re anything like me, the first time I thought about New Year’s was when I opened my laptop five minutes ago to figure out what to write about, so if you’re late on your plans, listen up.

A couple of Baltimore breweries are having NYE events. I will be attending a New Year’s Eve party, here in Raleigh, at Little City Brewing and Provisions. $120 a head, but hey, you get to drink and eat for free for 5 hours, and if you don’t think I’m coming out ahead on that, you’re crazy.

(You can discuss this on the BSL Board here.)

New Year’s Eve can be pricey, but if you do it the right way, at least you can have a good time. I’ve been to plenty of bars that are so packed you barely can even get a drink on NYE. In the past few years, breweries have been a solid spot that aren’t too packed and may be worth the money, especially in busy Baltimore.

Here are some Baltimore Breweries where you can ring in the new year.

Nepenthe Brewing Co.

Nepenthe is doing $65 open bar for beer and wine or $95 for beer, wine, liquor, and food, plus a few extras. It starts at 8 PM and ends it 1 AM. This is a late enough party where maybe you eat before and save the $30, because $65 isn’t bad if you’re going to have a couple of beers and have a solid place to hang out. There will be games, hourly prizes and music. So, if you go to Nepenthe, let us know what you think of their Space Jellyfish IPA or their Plutonian S’mores Stout.

Diamondback Beer Co.

Diamondback is doing it a little different. They are essentially your pregame brewery spot. Their party will be from 12PM – 9PM and it’s just pay for food and beer as you go. They are doing an event called Rolling Doubles. You can roll a dice and win 20% off your check. They will also have a pizza deal – $20 for a pizza and two pints. Go check out Diamondback and have a couple of their signature Lagerbiers and let us know how they are. Try not to have too many if you plan on it making it until midnight.

Suspended Brewing Co.

Suspended is doing a $100 a head open bar with beer, wine, and three craft cocktails. They will also be bringing in food from Ekiben, an Asian fusion restaurant. There will be a DJ and a gift for you to take home. If you’re looking for an intimate night, this could be it.

Full Tilt Brewery

Full tilt is running specials all day from noon to 1 AM: $1 off drafts, free finger foods from The Rolling Pit Grill Beef, $5 mixed drinks, 15% off to-go items, and a midnight champagne toast. Get out to Full Tilt and enjoy a Hops the Cat IPA or two. Take an Uber of course.

New Year’s Eve can be stressful to plan. Just tell your friends where you’re going and tell them to meet you there. Or just grab a growler or a couple six packs and head back to your own house. The only thing that matters on New Years is that you have some good beer and some good friends to bullshit with. It also doesn’t hurt to get a midnight kiss if you make it that far into the night.

If you know any other breweries near Baltimore hosting New Year’s Eve parties, let us know here. Also, check me out at www.mycousinvinny.blog to read some funny stories if you like.
