Most Wizards fans were just waiting for the other shoe to drop.  Thanks for those two months, Rasual.

Here's something I just found out today-

From Jan 7th to Feb 7th, Rasual Butler didn't score in double digits AT ALL. http://stats.nba.com...446/gamelogs/ …

Looks like he was in double digits on Jan 9 and Feb 5, so it's really 1/11 through 2/4...  that doesn't really affect your point, though - although it's now less than a month it's still 14 straight games.

His shooting numbers were simply unsustainable.

This was a guy found literally so far down the bottom of the dumpster DDDD wouldn't even consider him and he was absolutely unconscious early on.

That and their easy schedule were two big reasons why the Wizards started off the season so hot.

Ah dang it, you're right. Trying to look at charts quickly while at work is always my downfall.

His numbers were unsustanable, but I liked the lineups with him and Pierce just camped out on the corners last night.

Wittman's inability to love the three point line and general shrug when it comes to the offense in general, it was at least something to see people fronting behind the line.

He definitely helps with spacing, because other than shooting outside he doesn't do much else.

Before they signed Butler, they were trying to get Humphries to attempt more threes.

Ugh.

Please read this.  Just a great great piece on the life of DCs point guard.

Been almost a month now since the Wizards beat a good team (1/14 vs. Chicago).

Gortat sat the entire 4th quarter. He was just signed for $60 million this offseason.

It's a fun way to try and lose a job, I guess.

Another Grunfeld abortion. Gortat sitting major minutes late in the game has happened a lot this year. Ernie is an awful GM. He was saved by winning Wall in the lottery.

I know Gortat has struggled lately, but I like him. Seems better when they run the floor.

Getting him going, and trying to get more out of Porter Jr seem like needed keys before the playoffs.

I think they need to make a deal or three to do something more than losing in the first round of the playoffs.

They need a backup point guard, another three-point threat and another big body that can score around the basket a bit.

They appear to really want to hang onto both draft picks for next year, and nobody wants Martell's contract if he can't shoot.

They could find a spot for Blair since he's been so under used, but the market for a big like him seems pretty small. I think waiting for Will Bynum is a solid bet and possibly wait to see who gets bought out.

As an aside, I live about 3 blocks from Verizon and saw Blair looking at a condo in our building before the season started. I have a friend that's seen Gortat in Panera bread. And I've definitely walked past Okafor on the street.

But yeah this team appears to need a spark of some kind or another lately. They go through stretches where they are just giving games away. It's so frustrating at times.
