But bacon is still pretty damn good and so is some pumpkin beer.

Bacon is way better than Pumpkin beer. But I wouldnt drink a bacon beer.

I like pumpkin in pie form. Im not crazy about it in beer. I had a pumpkin beer and a burger at a bar once. After you drink it, everything tastes like pumpkin. Pumpkin cheeseburger...not so great. I digress.

As Ive noticed in my ten+years of drinking, there might be one maybe two quality beers for each type/season, the rest are garbage. Im done plowing through shitty six pack after shitty six pack just trying something new, and more often than not being disappointed. Dogfish is the exception to that rule for me. I dont think ive had anything of theirs I havent liked. If I see something new from them, ill get it. Their pumpkin is pretty good (I just dont care for that flavor in beer enough to drink it often).

As I write this...im kicking back with an ice cold High Life. Great in any season.

Pumpkin is good in lots of things, not just beer and pie.

Personal favorite is pumpkin gnocchi.

Hooking up my kegerator tonight...Sam Adams Oktoberfest...my favorite.

Wondering how the Pumking will turn out this year, I know people didn;t like it last year. I think I have one in my cellar from a few years ago, too.

Had SA Oktoberfest all weekend in Cincinnati.

I got you bro. We're too evolved.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

The Big Leaf Maple Red from Anchor Steam is excellent!  Bells Best Brown Ale is another solid fall brew.

Spaten Oktoberfeest never gets old, they go down so smooth.

There is Ayinger's Octoberfest, and then there's all other fall beers.

It's good, but that's not even the best beer they make.  Their Celebrator Dopplebock is world class

Pumking is good this year but not its 2010 peak level.

Had Heavy Sea's pumpkin beer on cask tonight. Like every pumpkin beer I've had this season, it's a bit more pumpkin pie than I would like, but one of the less sweet ones I've had. Been a mediocre batch of pumpkin beers this fall though. Most of them are way too full of nutmeg and sugar for my preferences, even ones I've liked in the past.

Evo's Jaq Au Lantern and Devil's Backbone Pumpkin Hunter are a bit milder on the pumpkin scale and are both worth checking out.

In other news I brewed a Hazel Nut Brown Ale over the weekend,  everything went well and it's fermenting nicely in my basement.  As long as I transfer it and bottle it when I want to it should be ready by Thanksgiving!
