I went back, it was the NFL head coach not NBA head coach which you said was less important, but the same point remains when you were asked to explain you didn't. My fault on not exactly remembering there.

Like a lot of posters who make a statement and never elaborate. Which I did anyway BTW.

It's that MLB managers, or baseball managing in general is underrated. And HC that don't call their own plays have no claim to being more important. They decide whether to go for it on 4th down and when to call TOs. Maybe set an overall philosophy and identity for the team.

That's exactly what a ML manager does, except his decisions are more often and arguably more crucial.

Way to completely hijack the thread.

Now, if you guys are done with the trolling, back to Rick Reily.

Ok well where is your proof that Reilly is retiring because he's repeating himself? Do you have him on the record?

Doesn't remotely answer my question but thanks.

Sorry, I did misread it.

But you're never going to get a public comment from him or anyone about that as a possible reason anyway. That doesn't mean it isn't part of the reason.

Cerano being Cerano.

He knew the plagiarism issue with Riley. Of course, he didn't come out and say that was why he was walking away.

Dude critcized me for the way I express my opinions and then he comes back asking for facts. The facts about the plagiarism are there, but of course it's only my opinion that played a part in his retirement.

I guess some of us aren't allowed to speculate anymore.

You and McNuts had a pretty intense brush up about college football, IIRC.

The spat with Pedro was so out of left field for me. We had never really had any issues... then a couple small things happened over the course of a few days, and bam... shit got real real up in here.

He hasn't stolen from others. He's just basically reused stuff from his past, mostly SI, at ESPN. Not only column topics, but pretty much exact quotes. It's not a crime, but when you have his reputation as a legend in the business--and are being paid and featured as such--it makes you look unbelievably lazy. Like if Bill James was just handing a win shares table to the Red Sox every week. Or if David Chase was hired by CBS to do a drama series and he just made a rehash of The Sopranos.

The Lee Corso one or when I made light of the FSU attendance?

I'd say that's the only one worth defending, but I'm not the biggest Muschamp fan.
