I'm going to Harpers Ferry Brewery this weekend. Never knew it was there but it seems to have opened over the winter. The views look amazing and the Yelp reviews for the beer are solid.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Driving to Atlanta for the weekend. Going to stop in Charlotte on the way. I like to pick up a case or so of beers I can't get here when I go out of town. Anyone have good reccomendations for Carolina beers? I like all styles except gose.

Burial is considered one of the best NC breweries.

I would highly recommend stopping in Richmond on the way back and checking out some of their beer, especially from The Veil, The Answer (also a good Vietnamese restaurant), and Triple Crossing.

Mother Earth Endless River Kolsch.

Had it in Asheville and loved it...I love Kolsch style beer...so whenever I know someone is going down to NC I ask them to bring me back some.

Should be able to find it at any decent beer store down there.

Have you had this yet? I'm a big fan https://www.dogfish....erfect-disguise

We stopped at a total wine in Charlotte assuming they’d have the largest local selection. Grabbed a bit of what they had rated highly. A lot to choose from. But I didn’t see Burial. Unfortunately we are pressed for time getting back and going straight through, no time to stop in Richmond. I’ll let the board know if anything I got in NC is worthy.

I did pick up a sixer of this. Looking forward to it.

Yeah, not great. Btw, merger is the word they're using, but buyout is what's appropriate.

Yeah, read an article. Nothing about sounds like “merger”. Dogfish got paid

I haven't drank a DFH in years so whatever.  Surprised that Sam Calagione sold out though.

This is also a bad look for Sam Adams if they are still trying to come across as a "little guy"

Cross another one off the Independent Brewery list.  This one hurts:  Founders.  Damn, they make some of my favorite beers their Porter is top notch, now I'll have to look elsewhere.

Had the first sour beers that I liked recently.

From the Dewey Can Company.

One was a pink starburst..literally tastes like that and they soak in 150lbs of pink starburst. That’s like 10%.

The other was some kind of blackberry, blueberry, etc..some kind of combo like that.

Both were excellent but could only drink so many because they are sweet.

Always have a soft spot for Pliny the Younger when I am in SoCal.  For a triple IPA around 12%, it does not have the bite you would expect from it.

I believe you can get Anchor in this area.  If so, I recommend the Anchor California Lager.  It's a little more hazy and amber body lager that you see from bock.  I find it easy to drink and more of a touch crisp finish.

I am always a fan of Firewalker, Cigar City, and Tree House Breweries, espcially the American Stouts from all three lines.

I enjoy ciders just as much these days, big fan of Bold Rock.

Crap.  If someone buys me something the best beer is a free beer! (within reason)

When I'm in SoCal, I love to go to Belching Beaver. They have the Viva la beaver. Such a great spicy stout.
