I would be fine if they switched to a 4-3...but they don't have to do it to justify this pick.

Right ...they still have Upshaw and Dummervil also.

They took Mosley over Dix and Pryor. Two guys at positions we need and players often mocked to us.
Tells me they had Mosley high enough as BP A over both.

By most ratings he was rated a top 10 player.

I'm perfectly cool with Mosley in the fold, but to argue with the talking points., making Smith a strong side OLB and Suggs/Dumervil strictly 4-3 DE sounds like some silly Madden shit to me.

This defense will continue to be a hybrid and the chips will fall will they may.

So did that coin toss cost us Zach Martin?????

  mzenitz
Mosley's agent told him that the Ravens were going to decide between him and Zack Martin, but Martin went the pick before

I disagree. If they don't get all these LBers on the field then it's an admission of making a mistake. Either drafting Brown or signing Smith to a 4 year deal. It just doesn't add up.

Would you rather they admit a mistake or just let it snowball and never address the problem. Like Boller.

Sounds like the medicals on his shoulder are really bad.

He and his agent says he 100% ...it's a shoulder! not a knee

Smith is old...he was signed to be a vet leader now and perhaps a back up long term.

This doesn't mean mistake here.

It means the Ravens valued Mosley higher and it is one of the many positions they felt they needed.

Now, if we could have done the deal with NO that Zona did, I am much less of a fan of the pick.

"Ozzie Newsome when asked if it was close between C.J. Mosley and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix said: 'C.J. was the clear-cut pick.'"

You like the fact that Ozzie spent a 1st, 2nd, and gave out a 4 year contract for a position that requires two players?

I like the fact that he took the best player and didn't reach for an inferior player.

This team doesn't play a straight 3-4 all the time...Smith isn't a long term solution.

They took a 3 down LBer in a spot when they had the better players gone.

Now, if they could have traded down, I don't like the pick all that much.

If they couldn't have, then this was the best pick they could make...they love a lot of WR in this draft...so, it's really Mosley or Dix..Mosley is better.

More than just a 2nd on Brown....they threw away a 5th and 6th on him too.

I'm not one to definitively say Mosley is petter than HaHa, but I'm completely with you otherwise

Yeah, and now Dorian Stewart is the starting FS.

Terrible allocation of resources.

@RavensInsider: Joe Hortiz on C.J. Mosley: 'He gets off blocks, he takes on guys. He covers the pass. He was a really fun guy to evaluate.'

@RavensInsider: Eric DeCosta: 'He's fast, tough, instinctive. He was the best available player and would have been the best at No. 10.'

Still six rounds to go, and Jimmie Ward available. Better than Clinton-Dix, IMO.
