Pretty incredible the numbers he has put up this year, though I doubt he receives much consideration...

Makes the Bedard trade look like nothing.

I think that's working out for the Reds now. They resigned Votto, so Alonso was irrelevant. Latos has gotten things under control and been a solid 2 after Cueto.

Wow that's terrible. Hope he's alright and can manage the team he got to the playoffs in them.

He says he'll be back next week, I can't really blame him for wanting to be back but I hope he's healthy!

You know, I didn't really look into it at the time, cause I was thinking SD got a HUGE return, and they still won the trade, no doubt, BUT they should have been targeting Bailey instead of Volquez in that deal. Never really looked too close at the splits, but he's like a 5.16 ERA pitcher at home, and 2.41 on the road. It's cause he's a flyball pitcher in a HR park, so he gives up 20+ a year, especially to righties. Seeing him take 5 years to finally work his control out and pitch the way he does reminds me a LOT of Matusz, and I wonder if some other teams aren't thinking let's rescue him from Camden Yards and let him be a flyball pitcher that lefties can't touch.

I believe the Nats were pretty confident they'd get this one. I hope this report is wrong, as the Nats making it would obviously give me a better shot to attend.

Great American has never hosted before, so not much of a surprise.

For what it's worth, here is a list of current MLB stadiums that haven't hosted yet:

Tropicana (TB)
Great American (CIN)
Citizens Bank (PHI)
PETCO (SD)
Nationals (WAS)
Citi (NYM)
Target (MIN)
New Yankee (NYY)
Marlins (MIA)

Mets get the 2013 bid, as do the Twins in 2014 and Reds in 2015.

EDIT: Tropicana isn't getting it. Sorry, but that place is a dump and the fans don't deserve it.

I'm really surprised that Philadelphia hasn't gotten one yet. I would predict they get 2016. Yankees will probably have to wait longer since they hosted the final year of Old Yankee Stadium. So for 2017-2019 I could see the league going to San Diego, DC, and Miami in some order.

Hopefully MLB returns the ASG festivities to Camden Yards for the park's 30th anniversary in 2022, if not earlier.
