No on HHCD.

Ward will be better.

I like them both. Ward is probably a bit better in man coverage, but Dix has the size advantage.

I think both will go in the first round though.

I'll be pretty surprised if our top 2 picks aren't OL,S,WR.

OL has to be drafted in the 1st or 2nd.

Disagree...Oline has been addressed.

Don't see the need to go R1 or R2 for one.

This team can't rely on Wagner as RT and it sounds like Harbaugh doesn't want to.

He said something to the effect of if the season started today it would be Wagner, but it doesn't so its pointless to talk about it.

Yeah, not a ringing endorsement. The Ravens will draft OL with one of their first 3 picks unless they do something in FA there. That is highly doubtful.

So reading between the lines, you would be surprised if either end up on the Ravens in the 1st round?

This is a draft that is deep at quite a few positions including WR, CB, and OT.

Admittedly, I have spent the most time studying the WR class, but I do think there are quality OTs that can be found in the 2nd round or later that would be more than adequate at RT. Joel Bitonio, Billy Turner, Juwuan James, Jack Mewhort, and James Hurst are just a few names that come to mind. You might not get an "elite" OT prospect, but they would be more than adequate.

On the other hand, if you wait on WR, I think the position becomes more limited. It's possible that a player taken in the 2nd or later can become a quality player, but IMO the dropoff is much steeper.

I think you're right.  I don't know if the Ravens feel the need to fill OT in Round 1 but I do like Martin as a fit for the Ravens.  I'm also a bit higher on Wagner at RT than most and think he could be a solid starter if the Ravens don't go OT high.

But yea, I love the idea of Clinton-Dix to the Ravens in Round 1 and if he isn't there, go WR then a FS in Round 2.  That's where I'm at now.  So much will change leading to the draft though.

3rd round sure....but I'm still not convinced they have to do anything with OL in the draft.

The ravens need another TE, a WR, a FS and help with the front 7. For me, those areas trump Oline right now.

Our line is set and if you don't like Wagner, you can still sign someone for competition...or someone will get cut later on. It always happens.

If they use a pick somewhere in the draft for an Olineman, that's fine with me....it's just that I think other positions are more important right now.

I think Clinton-Dix will be the selection at 17 if he is still there. If not, I could see WR or maybe DT. Trading back becomes an option as well if the Ravens can find a partner.

I agree with a couple of you that Clinton-Dix may be who we're targeting, mainly based on who's available at that pick.

Through our first few rounds- sans the potential trades we make, I can see a draft similar to this one:

R1- (FS) Ha Ha Clinton Dix - Alabama

R2- (WR) Jordan Matthews - Vanderbilt

R3- (ROT) Joel Bitonio - Nevada

R3- (TE) C.J. Fiedorowicz - Iowa

R4- (RB) Andre Williams - Boston College

R4- (QB) Aaron Murray - Georgia

That said, I imagine we'll end up with no more than one of these guys, if that. LOL

I'm not a big fan of Murray, but I like that draft.

Agreed, I'm not big on Murray at all... just thinking which QB may be there at that pick with real upside. Murray, despite his issues, definitely has upside, and could displace Tyrod as our backup to Joe. We need someone else if Joe goes down.

EDIT: After reading more on Murray, perhaps another QB would suffice. Either way, I hope we draft one that could be a better backup than Taylor.

Kiper has him as the most underrated player in the Draft.

I think he is more of a strong safety. He actually reminds me a lot of Matt Elam in his play style which makes me question if he would be a player the Ravens would target at 17.

Pryor might be a guy who sends a lot of cash to the commissioner's office.  I also think he's an SS more than an FS.

BSL: Taylor Lewan

http://baltimorespor...t-taylor-lewan/

Could he slip to Baltimore? Maybe. His strong combine may keep him out of reach but will his character concerns scare some teams anyway?

Understand there are the character concerns (especially with the off-season the Ravens have had)... but I'm hoping Lewan falls to the Ravens. He is who I want the most if the Ravens stay at 17.

We may take Lewan if he falls but I'm not sure I believe in his talent, character and ability in the zbs.
