I'm afraid to admit that I do not like bacon on a burger.

For a fat man, it really is quite strange that I'm not really much of a fan of bacon.

Sorry, I blacked out while I was typing this post -- what were we talking about?

I'm not a huge fan of eating bacon by itself, but when placed on a juicy delicious cheeseburger, nothing can compare. In fact, I may make a trip to 5 guys as we speak.

BTW, hows the weight loss going?  I'm down 7 pounds myself after about 10 days -- but it's mostly water weight I'd guess.  I'm trying this time around not to rely on the scale to tell me how I'm doing (it can be discouraging) and rather just see how I look, how I feel, how my clothes fit, etc.

I've really been doing the scale every few weeks for the same reason you listed. I'm feeling good and am continuing to work out about 4-6 days a week. I've increased the work load on the bike, and it's getting a lot better. Hell, on Opening Day, while easily the largest of my group, I was also the only one not winded by the time we got to row 19 or whatever it was in our section. That was a great feeling.

Anyway, I'm down about 25 lbs this year overall... but I haven't lost any weight for about 5 weeks now. My Birthday put me in a bit of a tail spin with going out and getting drinks and not eating the best... but I've maintained the exercise, which is good at least.

Says the skinny guy who can probably eat all the burgers nd drink all the beer he wants without ever needing to "upsize" his wardrobe! ;) (I don't know you, but that'd be my guess)

Bacon on a burger is great, but the best bacon delivery vehicle will always be the BLT.

Thick bacon, fried crispy but not burnt.  Fresh, room temp, ripe summer tomato, lightly salted and peppered.  Chilled, crunchy lettuce.  Toasted white bread (one of the few sandwiches I prefer on white).  Mayo on both slices.

Then when you run out of bacon...tomato sandwiches.

This, a million times over. And in my opinion, the buck stops at The Full Moon Pub on 140.

That's because you're doing it wrong.  You don't put it on top.  You mince it up nice and fine and mix it into the groundbeef before you cook it up.

Homemade cheese burgers on the grill last night with mushrooms and onions as well.  I wrap the mushrooms and onions in foil then put em right on the coals.    Topped off with Flying Dog's Woody Creek,  it's a belgian white.  Good times!

I take an onion, cut it in half and throw a little butter and salt in there before I wrap it. Delicious stuff.

I'm checking out New Belgium's Summer Helles.  I think it's the new lager, it's pretty good.  It's got a pleasant light hoppy front end, but the back end is almost like a wheat beer.
