ESPN: Winston: Baseball good for me
FSU football coach Jimbo Fisher has said several times he approves of Winston's decision and feels baseball has helped his quarterback improve on the football field, too.
He's publicly supported him and apparently Jimbo has a great relationship with the baseball staff.

ESPN: Will next generation of fans show up?
The most common complaints included restrictions on tailgating at the stadium, or the quality of presentation of the games on television compared to the sight lines and breaks in the action at the stadium. Fans of the worst teams complained that the games weren't competitive enough, yet so did did fans of the best teams. One thing that wasn't an issue? Ticket prices, as most are either free or heavily subsidized.
As the business of college football grew, many schools began moving student sections into some of the worst seats in order to make boosters happy in prime seats. But as student crowds at some schools started to fade, athletic department officials at those schools began to understand that if they didn't get the students in the building while they were at school, they might not get their money in the future.

CBS Sports: Report: Jim Delany exploring Friday night Big Ten games
Not a fan of this at all.
ESPN: Big Ten unlikely to add Friday games
Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany said Thursday that the league is not looking to schedule more Friday football games, except on Thanksgiving and Labor Day weekends.
"Beyond that, I don't think while I'm around here you're going to see Friday night games," he said. "Down the road? Who knows?"

To play or not play a Spring Game (CBS Sports)
After 3,642 fans watched a vanilla gameplan on a cold April night at a local high school field, Paul Chryst got real with his athletic director about Pitt's Blue-Gold spring game.
“He said, ‘I really wish we had another practice other than this,'” Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson recalled. “I told him we'd talk about it.”
Those talks led to this -- a Pitt spring practice without a spring game. Chryst said last week he'd prefer the extra practice time, as coaches get 15 full sessions according to NCAA rules.
Auburn fans paid $5 per ticket, but after paying for security, gameday staff, first aid and filtering proceeds to the lettermen club, the school breaks even.
I think Ohio State/Notre Dame also charge for their spring game, not sure how common this is. It's hard enough in many places to get a decent crowd to the spring game, paying even as little as $5 just seems unnecessary but I get that people in college football hotbeds will pay that.
Since Maryland doesn't charge money, I'm guessing the game is a net negative. Of course, they don't have to as much security and gameday staff OTOH since a lot less attend the game.
I personally like the spring games, but I can see from a young team's perspective particularly when they aren't going to get a big crowd why some schools would opt not to have a spring game.

Tressel sent Akron trustees two letters a month apart. In the first, he suggests himself as an interim leader who knows the school's challenges and could help in the transition. The second is his application to be president.
