Hardball Talk has adopted the acronym BSOHL for all similar stories this Spring. Still, for Atlanta, this is vitally important.

Even when Chipper gets back, the offense still looks thin.

Heyward is off to a good start. Supposedly healthier than he was last year. Lot of pressure on him to carry the offense.

I don't think there are many better things in baseball than the current Chipper Jones farewell tour. Chipper is a class act and deserves every bit of this positive attention.

I'm a little partial to the Braves. I think Chipper is a classy dude and I've gone to a number of Pelicans games (now the Rangers affiliate), but I saw some of their top guys there, namely Heyward, Freeman, and Teheran.

Goldstein tweet:

Craig Kimbrel since giving up runs in 3 straight G in early May: 26 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 44 K. That's ridiculous

He's having a hell of a year. I was at the Braves/Nats game a month ago where Atlanta came back from a big deficit and won in extra innings, and the original reason my friends and I chose that game was to see Chipper play one more time before he retired.

ESPN: Freeman's shot heard 'round Atlanta

http://espn.go.com/b...d-round-atlanta

Freeman is the seventh player in major-league history to hit a walk-off home run to clinch a team’s postseason berth.

He is just the second, however, to hit the game-winning homer with his team trailing in the game. The other was Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard ‘Round the World” for the 1951 New York Giants.

First heard this watching MLB Network, when you are the first player to do something since Bobby Thomson that's something!

Wonder if the Braves can catch-up up to the Nats now?

ESPN: The many feats of Chipper Jones

http://espn.go.com/m...s-chipper-jones

Since the day Chipper Jones moved into the Braves' lineup to stay, on Opening Day 1995, they've won 427 more games (1,658) than they've lost (1,231). That

Never want to say never, but I think he'll retire for good. And it's great to see a #1 overall play a HOF career for one team, the one that drafted him, in this day and age.
