Love is a top 7 player. Yes, he can't protect the rim, but his defensive rebounding is great and he's possibly the best offensive big in the league. He's absolutely a max contact guy. Durability is the only legit reason to argue otherwise IMO.
I definitely don't do the deal Cleveland is proposing if I'm Minnesota. Bennett and Thompson are dead weight (pun intended in Bennett's case) considering they will make $5.5 million each this season. Waiters could be a nice piece for them, but they've already got Kevin Martin under contract for the next three seasons, so unless they can move him that doesn't really make sense either.

That's not an incredibly appealing offer, but if I'm running the Wolves, keeping Love for all of next year is the least desirable option so I'd seriously consider whatever the best offer they get this off-season.

Why not reopen talks with GS?

If Cleveland is gonna play hard ball, there are 28 other NBA teams that would "love" to have Love.

Well not many teams have assets that they are willing to part with to land Love. I wouldn't even want Klay that much if I were Minnesota.

Looks like the Wiggins for Love trade could be going down here soon. A lot of smoke this morning about this.

I think it's smart for the Cavs, and the right thing to do. I'm in the minority, but I truly think that Wiggins is going to be a bust.

A lot of people saying they wouldn't deal Wiggins for Love. I mean, I get it...but that seems to me to be a situation where people who wouldn't deal him would be doing so because of the fear that WIggins becomes a stud.

Love already is a stud, is young, a perfect fit for that team and is willing to sign long term in Clev, which was something they couldn't secure from anyone when they had LeBron the first time.

This move is all about helping LeBron and showing him that you are committed long term, which they didn't show him the first time around.

Love has some question marks as well though. He has never been on a winning team. Yes he works off the ball but Lebron will be feeding it to him so he will be expected to create more shots. Can he do that and still be as effective? Will his rebounding take a hit on a better team. Just some questions out there.

I am pretty sure Shack is thinking of PBR.

Only legitimate question mark is health.

He can't protect the rim, but he can body guys up decently and defensive rebounding is part of defense and in that, he excels.

Love is a better fit for LBJ than Bosh or Wade were too.

Clev is going to be better on paper than Miami ever was.

The more I hear from Blatt the more I think Cleveland may have struck gold. Of course with LeBron and maybe Love, it might be tough to truly evaluate his actual impact. But I like him.

People accused Phil Jackson of riding talented players too. I'm definitely interested to see how he does though.

He won in two different places, that's enough for me. If things don't work out, he's getting blamed. I know it's not the same thing, but I'll be interested to see how he does with the Knicks.

I do wonder if the college coaches regret turning down the Cavs knowing what they know now?
