A really good catcher.

Andy hit a home run in 1971 that an excited 13 year old caught with his Curt Blefary model glove.

RIP Etch.....

I've got an old toy of my Dad's that is a model of a catcher about to catch a pop-up. I eventually figured out that it was Yogi Berra (the pinstripes and NY on the helmet became a giveaway) but when I was young my Dad swore it was Andy Etchebarren. So that is always where my memory goes first with his name.

I hate that my first reaction to hearing that was "I wonder if the President is gonna insult him posthumously".

The only Orioles pitcher to lose 20+ games in a season. Part of the famous 18-player trade with the Yankees in 1955.
