Man, my friends and I were just IMing about this.  We are all 47 so this is touching pretty fucking close to home.  It sucks when reality starts to hit home about death.

Yup.

It really sucks when this starts to happen. I'm not even 40 yet and have had a few childhood friends pass away recently.

I've never been as crushed by a celebrity death as I was when Bourdain died.

But when someone like Luke Perry dies, someone you grew up watching on TV, and isn't much older than you, it really starts to affect you more and more.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I was at that same show most likely.  I'm pretty sure we've discussed this on here before

He was on Married with Children.

Apparently writers of the shows were fans of his and that's why Al's last name was Bundy

That’s sad. Never met the guy, but I played in the same softball league with him for a number of years. 6 or 7 years ago he collapsed running to 1st base. EMTs were able to save him, he didn’t play again. But he’d hang around his team from time to time.

He had a big gold chain, that said “DETOUR” on it, that he looked out of place wearing. Lol.

Insanely nice guy. He was so so sick, such a shame. RIP

It is with great sadness we have learned that Celtics Legend and Hall of Famer John Havlicek has passed away peacefully today at the age of 79. He will be dearly missed by his Celtics family.

Jon Singleton is about to be taken off of life support.

Director of Boyz n the Hood.  To this day, still an all time classic movie.

Yeah that's sad news.

He had himself a great career behind the camera.

Love Boyz N the Hood.  Great movie.

Singleton was the youngest person ever nominated for Boyz N the Hood, and the first black person nominated for best director.

Shoot, he was only 51 too. Damn.
