Green gets a 4/100 extension.

That’s a lot less than I thought he would get.

Warriors got completely owned at home vs. the mighty Suns... and Steph Curry broke his left hand.

Seems like the perfect time to tank honestly.

And watch out if they do.

They end up with a top pick and add that guy, making no money, to a healthy team.

At least that new arena is nice.

Dynasties end quickly in today's NBA. The Heat several years ago, and now the Warriors. Those teams rose as fast as they fizzled out. But it can give hope to fans of just about any franchise. Except the Knicks....until Dolan no longer owns them, they will suck.

Just read an interesting article about teams around the league being worried that the Warriors are going to get a high first rounder.

worried?

Seems pretty clear that they will, and will be right back near the top of the standings.

That 2nd part of your last sentence is the concern. I agree. Klay will be back along with a lottery pick.

I said in the offseason that the best thing that could happen to them is get a high pick.

Hell, they may deal russell and get other picks too.

Curry and Thompson should be rested for next year, you have a lot of young guys gaining experience now, a high pick coming in and they apparently will have salary cap flexibility next year as well.

There are some who think they should trade Green too.

Yeah, I think they'll be just fine. Still crazy to see them go from one extreme to the other just like that though.

Meanwhile, the Wizards are still trying to sneak into the playoffs as an 8 seed every year.

This is my entire argument on the Orioles part of the board, there's nothing worse than being in the middle, like being the 9 or 10 seed or whatever in the NBA. No playoffs, and not terrible enough to get a top 3 pick.

Argument makes sense for NBA.  And also for the NFL for getting a quarterback.

But it falls apart for baseball, as the odds of a top pick becoming a star are dramatically lower and the impact made by one star on your team's future is also dramatically lower than the impact of a star basketball player or quarterback.

The advantage is significantly greater in basketball imo.
