ESPN: R.A. Dickey tore muscle in April

http://espn.go.com/n...orn-muscle-side

After making his final 2012 start on Tuesday night, Dickey revealed he tore and possibly detached the stomach muscle during his second start of the season, on a cold April 13 night in Philadelphia. He has dealt with "dull pain" in his stomach area throughout the season.

ESPN NY: Source: David Wright gets offer

http://espn.go.com/n...ght-source-says

The New York Mets have offered a contract extension to David Wright that would keep the All-Star third baseman with the club at least through 2020, a major league source told ESPNNewYork.com.

The source said Wright had been offered at least a seven-year extension by the Mets, on top of the $16 million he is owed for 2013.

Those would be his Age 31 through 37 seasons. Longoria just signed his extension starting at Age 31 as well, though just 6 guaranteed years, at just under $17M per year. Longoria has a much longer time before getting to that point, though, and would have had to wait much longer until FA.

I would guess that Wright is probably asking for something over $20M per year. I bet the Mets offer was probably closer to what Longoria just got.

Could be a great 1/2 punch, we'll see how good Wheeler is right away.

Heyward breaks it up with an IF single... unless they rule it an error because no one was at the bag.
