Probably doesn't matter too much, the new GM will most likely want to clean house, if Richardson doesn't make that decision beforehand.

http://deadspin.com/... ... -two-years

The statement is for the years ending March 31, 2011, and March 31, 2012. Over the first period, as Richardson argued that the NFL's business model was hopelessly broken and steered the owners toward a showdown to extract more money from the players, the Panthers recorded an operating profit of $78.7 million. The team had gone 2-14 on the field, but Richardson and his partners were able to pay themselves $12 million.

Over the following year, after the owners had won their lockout and reduced the players' share of league revenue from 50 percent to 47 percent, the Panthers brought in $33.3 million in operating profit. Richardson began lobbying for public subsidies to renovate his 17-year-old stadium. The team went 6-10.

Just keep this in mind the next time a MLB team says they can't afford to retain a player. (I am looking at you Rays)

I do not think there is a recorded case in American sports history of a MLB or NFL team selling for less then it's purchase price.

Well I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a guitar player.

Someone recently asked that the most "generic/overlooked/they exist?" franchise is in sports and my vote would probably be the Carolina Panthers.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

Probably because they're in the NFC and we only see them once every 4 years. For me, the Jags are slightly ahead of the Panthers. At least they have a guy like Newton. Jags? They're completely irrelevant/have no identity/no hope.

It might be because I don't follow hockey but I'd say the Florida Panthers.

Blue Jackets are top 5 most irrelevant.

They have such a dated logo.   They might as well add an outline of a half-zip Starter jacket from the 1990's around their logo, because that's what everyone thinks of when they look at it anyway.

Columbus was the first team I thought of. So that probably eliminates them from consideration

The Florida Panthers is a good one. Has anyone taken notice of them since they made the finals chucking rats on the ice?

Rivera had challenged the Panthers before yesterday, saying to use the NO game as a measuring stick. They got the win. Certainly going to be a tough out.

Don't think this is happening now. Amazing how so much can change in this league(and sports) in a few months.
