No.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

If he isn't going to opt out then no.

If it would created renewed interest in a flagging franchise, then it might be well worth it. But Machado doesn't strike me as the type of player who will single-handedly put fannies in the seats.

No, why would the Orioles claim him?  They traded him because A) they weren't a contender, B) they didn't want to pay him, and C) they wanted the draft capital in return.  What is different now?  A) They still are not a contender and B) I'm sure they still don't want to pay him.  C obviously doesn't apply.  It makes no sense at this point.

I wouldn't claim him for his contract/performance/attitude even IF we were a contender.

Manny was convinced of his unmatched superiority, when he wasn't making bank and was playing with a sheriff (AJ). Imagine how unbearable he'd be now.

I think Manny's entire personna changed when he started hitting home runs. at a slu8ggerts pace  He spent the latter part of 2016 chasing homeruns trying to get to 40.  He bulked up every year, which hurt his defensive range.  His whole attitude chaged.  He became a prima donna, and IMO became less of a player.  He is still very good, but he is a major pain in the ass.
