The one thing I know without seeing a pitch.  No way Mullins arm plays in right field.

Well we know Mountcastle's certainly won't either so right field it is for Mullins!

I have not seen Mountcastle throw, is it really worse than Mullins?

I can’t imagine it’s better since his arm is the reason he was taken off SS and 3B and trying to be hidden at 1B and LF.

I guess, but Mullins has a Mickey Rivers type rm and that is not good.

The Orioles game is on MLB network.  Sounds like the Phillies announcers doing the game.  A very sparse crowd in Clearwater.

Mountcastle loses a fly ball in the sun in the first inning.

Yeah I’m watching on mlb.tv and it’s the Philly broadcast.

Mountcastle has a LONG way to go in the outfield. Good lord that was awful.

It is easy to tell.  Sounds like they were reading about the Orioles players out of the press guide.

Cobb, pretty good 2 innings.  It is nice to see him on the mound.  Had to feel good for him too.  He has not had a full spring since we signed him.

Second inning was Hess and he had the same shitty pitch movement and lack of location. His off-season performance program didn’t help him today at least. Disappointing

There is zippy purpose imo for him getting time in LF.   I hate it.  I'm not going to b&m about it everytime I see it, but it does make me cringe everytime I see they have him out there or working on it.

I feel like it sets up a young player to fail.  I have B&M about the Orioles sticking infielders in the outfield for years and thought maybe the new regime would stop, but it looks like I was wrong.

I don't see why moving from 3B to LF is inherently any less likely to succeed than him moving from 3B to 2B.  It's all a very long shot, since he's been so bad everywhere to date.  The purpose is clear, you want to find somewhere he can provide defensive value (even if below-average to borderline unplayable) other than being relegated to 1B or DH.

Ball sounds good off Santanders bat even if he has nothing to show for it.

Akin getting rocked.  He looks heavier than I remember from when I saw him at Bowie

Injuries happen so maybe that provides opportunity...but I'm pretty sure that (with health) the Os OF by June (and for the next few yrs) is Santander, Hays, and Diaz.

They haven't cut Davis yet.
Mancini belongs at 1st.
Nunez is either DH (ideally) or probably below average at 3rd (with other options there).

I get that things will mostly work themselves out, but to me I think it's a waste of time and vision giving him time in LF.

Lakins comes in and promptly gives up 2 solo HRs before recording an out.

I had no idea who the hell Lakins was.

He now has given up 3 very long home runs.
