Despite winning both of their games last week, the Terps drop one spot to #4 in this week's AP Poll. This will be the team's first road game of the season.

Penn State currently stands at 7-2 (0-1) in head coach Pat Chambers' ninth season at the helm. They lost their first conference game on the road against Ohio State by a score of 106-74. Their other loss came to Ole Miss as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off in Brooklyn, NY. The Nittany Lions have beaten Bucknell, Georgetown, Syracuse, UMES, Wagner, Wake Forest, and Yale.

As a team, Penn State is shooting 45% from the field, including 32% from beyond the arc and 67% from the free throw line. They average 15 assists and 13 turnovers per game, and average 42 rebounds and 6 blocks per game.

Georgetown and Syracuse are pretty solid wins. Need a max effort here.

If they bring the same execution they had against Illinois into this game, it'll be their first loss of the season.

I think some of the criticisms thus far are valid but at some point you just gotta start hitting shots.  Ayala shooting just 25% from 3 after 41% last year, and Wiggins has dropped from 41% to 32%.  Need those 2 in particular to start making them.  I feel like the defense has been solid and so far we haven't seen any of the patented long droughts that past teams went through where they couldn't even get a good look.

I have had a feeling that there was a loss in the last 3 games and this was the one I circled.

I hope I am wrong,

First real road game against a team, I think is improved.  A win tonight, will be a real good win, no matter what the score.

Cowan feeds Smith, who loses the ball.

PSU runs the court and scores. 11-10 PSU.
