I look at that list and it's really crazy the amount of breweries there are now in the state. Close to 90 on that list with another 25 planning on opening. I'm not saying they are all great but the explosion in variety is nice!

Maryland Brewers Association held their annual craft beer competition over the summer.
Heavy Seas Pounder Pils won best in show. This is a solid brew for sure, but to see it win best in show is surprising to me. On a related note HS stopped producing Winter Storm to put out another variation of IPA. Ugh
I was happy to see Union's Black Wing take gold in the Ambers, Dark Lagers & Bocks category.

I will forever preach the fact that (what I did not realize at the time) limited release of Orange Double Duckpin from Union is fantastic.
I ask about it every time I am there.

I've really been getting into Mobtown Brewing lately. A couple of their standouts are their Rye Porter and their new Saison that they put out. Two great beer styles and two well done beers.
