I would keep all three and use McSorley as a Swiss Army knife.

I don’t think there are a lot of guys making great cases for the 53rd man on the roster where you might miss out if you keep 3 QBs instead of 2 and a different guy.

I think they keep McSorely.  I realize it's not the road they like to go down(3 QB's) but if they throw him on the practice squad, he's as sure as gone because someone's going to take a flyer on him at some point.  They'll just have to sacrifice someone somewhere else on the roster.

I don’t think it’s definite that he gets picked up unless someone likes him in the Taysom Hill role.

IMO it would be front office malpractice to stand pat on the present OL. Yes, if all goes well and everyone stays healthy we'll be OK, but how often does that happen? We have no margin for error with what this offense needs and is designed to do. Starting Tackles OK, and Yanda great if he's well. 6th rotational guy Hurst is adequate. Young guys coming along with promise. But for right now C and G are inconsistent, and will get beat by better defenses. I'm sure help will be obtained.

I agree.  If the starters stay healthy all year, the OL can be respectable.  But any injuries could make it a serious problem.  The depth is very thin.

I think he has that skill set.

The issue is that the Ravens haven't been able to use him in the this type of role because of RG3's injury.

Despite this, I think that he has shown enough at QB to be picked up if he is cut.

I doubt that he makes it to the Ravens practice squad if he is cut.

I think you are right.

I believe the Ravens will keep all 3.

Before the Eagle game, many were cutting McSorley, not many want RG3 cut.

If Lamar were to get hurt, RG 3 is IMO, the most likely to give the Ravens a chance

I agree.

I think the Ravens keep all three QBs.

Maybe McSorley gets used on ST once RG 3 comes back.

If Lamar gets hurt for any extended period of time, the season is pretty much over in my opinion.  RG3?  McSorely?  I don't think it matters much at that point.  But I'd rather see the kid get the chance to develop than have RG3 out there.  It's the same way I felt last year when everyone was debating on whether Flacco would be reinstalled at quarterback after he was healthy enough to do so.

Hill is brought in on short yardage plays the Saints don't want Brees to try. McSorley is not the size of Hill and is more likely to get stuffed.

That's not all he is doing though.

If they want to use McSorley in different offensive capacities / formations, it's easier to do so not counting on him to be the sole backup QB.

Plus RG3 has a better skill set at QB.

Yeah, if Jackson goes out to season ending injury.... the Ravens probably aren't getting past that.

But if you lost Jackson for 2 weeks, I think you'd feel better with RG3 starting those games vs. McSorley.

The tough part about RG3's injury this summer, was that you didn't get a chance to evaluate McSorley on Special Teams and maybe as a Dimeback.

Still, he showed you more at QB than was expected so I guess that is a wash.

Would really surprise me if the Ravens don't carry all 3.

If you keep all 3, which position gets hurt?

Do you not take 4 RBs?  Only 5 WR?

They take all 4 RB, unless Dixon is traded.

They should only take 5 WR.  No need for more.

I agree but who is the 5th guy?

Roberts was signed and brought in for a number of reasons but he has been hurt and a non factor.  Still, you know who he is and what he can do.  Scott has looked great and has ideal size for the red zone.  Even Floyd has been good.

Obviously Snead, Hollywood, Boykin, Moore are the first 4...  and like you said, you are choosing between Floyd, Roberts, and Scott.

Floyd has had a big camp, but if I'm just keeping 5... I probably would prefer Scott's youth.
Scott also gets an edge if he can help on ST.

The reason to keep Floyd (or Roberts) would be if you think their experience can help develop Hollywood and Boykin.
And if you'd like to have another vet on the field occasionally.

Roberts is supposed to have skills similar to Snead, so while 'redundant', it would give you a viable replacement if Snead was lost.

Didn't they also like what Roberts gives you on ST?  I thought I remember hearing that when they signed him.

ST will play a big factor into all of these decisions.

I think they are going to keep 6 WRs.  I am just unsure about the RBs.  Im guessing they think they can put Turner on the PS, so that might mean that keeping 3 RBs, with Turner as your de facto 4th guy, is a real possibility.

When is the final roster purge? It's this weekend right?

But I would guess that the "final roster" will change before the first game.

Once we see who gets cut, who is available for trade, etc...

Yeah, after a few times running the ball he surprises with a pass. Unless you are talking about him playing on ST's. Haven't seen McSorley play them so far.

Oline and inside linebackers may get a quick trip to Baltimore.
