I'd like to talk a little bit about how freaking great Judge Smails is.  The dude is in a movie with Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, and Bill Murray and he is by far the best part of the movie.  Pure, unadulterated WASPy evil and he thinks he's the victim the entire time.  The perfect movie villain.

Just about every line of his is amazing.

"There is no gambling at Bushwood, sir, and I never slice."

"Spaulding get your foot off the boat!"

"I've sent boys younger than you to the electric chair.  Didn't want to do it.  Felt I owed it to them."

"You'll get nothing and like it!"

Ted Knight probably wasn't "acting" either. He was pissed off on set often given that the other other actors partied all the time. Everyone else was high, drunk, and he was the sober professional. Ever been the stone cold sober guy at the party full of drunks? I'd be mad too.

"I'm having a party this weekend. How would you like to come over and mow my lawn."

Mike wanted to consider only fictional movies and not "based on a true story" movies.

Bump...

Maybe everyone give their top ten, in order. I’ll organize the top ten like the AP polls.

That coach was Dan Devine, who vehemently denied his portrayal in the film, and I think he's been pretty much justified in that.

He was played by Chelcie Ross, who could also be argued as a villain in Hoosiers.

To me, though, Coach Reilly has always been the ultimate sports villain.

He also drank Jobu's rum.
