I see Barrett is shooting poorly across the board... but he's playing every night, averaging 32 minutes a game... is scoring 14ppg, rebounding numbers look good for a guard. Only 19.

Shouldn't the shooting improve as he ages? Or is the thinking he's fully baked, and this is who he is?

I would assume that there will be improvement. There needs to be a lot of it. The latter is what I'm skeptical of. Players don't typically play this poorly as rookies, especially when having major college program experience and getting plenty of opportunity, and then go onto become stars.

Btw, the first round in general is very disappointing. Morant has been quite good, but otherwise it's pretty bad with my boy Brandon Clarke being a notable exception.

But we'll see, RJ, Garland, and Culver have shown some positive signs of late.

Also, RJ is the type of player who very well may be a fit issue if he doesn't become a star because he doesn't have the type of game that profiles well as a role player unless it's as a bench scorer type.

I understand why some “traditionalist” fans dislike this era of gunning 3 after 3. But this is what the analytics say — players are such good shooters it doesn’t make any sense to shoot from the elbow.

It also obviously allows for more space for creators to operate in.

It probably does mean that if you can be an outstanding mid range scorer, that you can score at will because no one is going to guard it.

Also, like OBP in baseball, it's really crazy that it took so long for "analytics" to win out. I use the quotes, because you don't exactly need to be a stat geek to figure out that getting on base more often is a really good thing and that 3 points are worth 1.5 times 2 points.

Zion's debut pushed back a week, now the 22nd.

Was it on account of his dozing off on the bench during the Pelicans comeback the other night? ;)

The drop off from the top 12, is drastic.  There are more bad teams, than good ones

Zion doesn't look like he's remotely in shape.

And he's played just 4 minutes so far in the 1st. He's not ready IMO. Still looks gassed from those 4 minutes.
