The Sun reported Cowan is dealing with a concussion.

Maryland beat Pittsburgh in a "secret scrimmage" yesterday, 84-75. Jalen Smith 20-10, 3-4 from three...Aaron Wiggins had 16, and Donta Scott went for 11-8.

Yeah, MD had a big lead, then went to rotations.

Cowan still dealing with his concussion, was off.

Bigs got in foul trouble.

Scott getting a lot of love.  Looks like he's carving out a rotation spot.

How's Pitt supposed to be this year?

I'm stoked for Wiggins and Sticks, expect both to have great years.

Not likely an NCAAT team.  CBS has them 10th in the ACC.

Sounds about right. Capel had a HUGE project in front of him, and I'm guessing he'll do a nice job long term, but they're a ways away. Better than last year though.

I can't wait for the season to start.  I am looking forward to seeing Wiggins and Sticks make the leap to All B10 type players, and looking forward to seeing the young players develop.

Play fast Turgeon.

Maryland is #8 in the coaches poll.

UNC #11 (I realize I"m the only one who cares in this thread, but I"m legally required to say it) :)

My problem with preseason polls. UNC wipes the floor with MD if they play this game today.

Absolutely false. Heels lost their top 5 scorers from last year, and it's going to take a bit to get this new group to mesh together. Plus we're starting the season with three semi important depth guys on the shelf with nagging injuries.

Carolina might be pretty decent by February, but could struggle early.

Yeah I'd rather take Carolina now than later. They will improve, as to where Turgeon's teams tend to peak early, then regress/grow stale.

For sure.

Heels are sweet 16 at best in my opinion this season, while I think Maryland has legit Final Four potential.

We'll see, can't wait to get going!

You know your stuff. I’m not gonna debate you on that.

But C’mon... it’s UNC. It’s Roy Williams. You’re good. Don’t sweat it.

Thanks, first of all.

That being said, they're always "good", yes, but bringing an entire new team, while literally losing their top 5 players won't be easy, regardless of the jersey they're wearing.

Yea, my problem with polls. Maryland may have the talent to hang with UNC, at least now, but they have Roy and we have Mark.

Terp fans can hope.

UNC and Duke could be amongst the teams you want to play early but don’t want to play late.

MD should be the opposite. They should be good right out of the gate and they should be good all year.

Agree with all but the last 5 words. Turgeon just completely uninspiring come Feb/March unfortunately.

But I'm going to enjoy it and will enjoy it more if he confounds expectations. I obviously hope he does. This team should be not only good, but a lot of fun to watch.

Is this the most talented team he has had at MD?

Can the talent outweigh his coaching?

Nah the year we had Stone was more talented.
