The Giants lost to the Bills 28-14 and are 0-2 now for the sixth time in seven years. Their defense struggled in the first half (260 yards and 21 points) and couldn't make a key stop late. Their offense hasn't topped 20 points in either game. This has the looks of a bad team, which will only spark calls for Daniel Jones to enter the lineup.

How real are these Cowboys? With their 31-21 win against Washington, the Cowboys are 2-0 for the second time in the Jason Garrett era after two games and 2-0 in the NFC East. Dak Prescott has seven touchdown passes so far and did not miss a pass in the second half. Ezekiel Elliott ran for 111 yards and scored the clinching touchdown. The Cowboys have scored more than 30 points in back to back games. Next up are the seemingly hapless Miami Dolphins. The challenges will become more difficult but the Cowboys have been impressive through two games.

Mason Rudolph in the second half: 12-of-19, 112 yards, two touchdowns, one interception (off a Donte Moncrief drop), 92.5 passer rating. Clean debut for the second-year QB.

The Redskins are 0-2 after the 31-21 loss to Dallas because they have a defense that keeps giving up big plays --an issue that was supposed to have been fixed - and an offense that can't run the ball. Before the season the two areas many thought they would be OK: defense and running the ball. They're not. They need better production from the big money guys such as corner Josh Norman. They're forcing an offense with a journeyman quarterback to score often or lose. The Redskins have 14 games left, but they need to provide reason to believe those games will be a lot different.

The Lions didn't play particularly well Sunday — especially on special teams — but a critical play on offense and an interception from Darius Slay on defense saved a night filled with mistakes for Detroit in a 13-10 win over the Chargers. It's a game the Lions had to have with Philadelphia and Kansas City next up on the schedule.

Between now and November 3, the Raiders only "home game" is against the Bears in London. Since a theoretical Athletics World Series run would end no later than October 30, today is likely the last time an NFL team plays a game on a field with a dirt infield, at least on a regular basis.

Russell Wilson's average time to throw today was 1.89 seconds. That's the fastest average time to throw game (min. 14 attempts) since EJ Manuel in Week 4 of 2017 (also 1.89), per NFL Next Gen Stats.

Bill Belichick on Antonio Brown: "We'll take a look at it on film. It was one week. There are a lot of things we can work on. But it's good to have him out there."

For the Chiefs, the most troubling aspect of Oakland's first two drives was their inability to pressure on Derek Carr, even with the blitz. The exception was the last play of the most recent drive, when Chris Jones got there late. The Raiders lead the Chiefs 10-0.

Saints get screwed by the refs in a Rams game again. Goff had an empty hand fumble, returned for a TD by the Saints, but blown dead as an incompletion once Cameron Jordan was halfway to the endzone. Blown dead, can't review. Saints get a clear recovery on their own 10, erasing a long defensive TD.

Officiating is so bad in this league.

ESPN:

Russell Wilson said he told DK Metcalf at halftime that he was going to help the Seahawks win the game. Metcalf had a rough first half with one catch on four targets and a facemask penalty that forced Jason Myers to attempt a 58-yard field goal that he missed. Sure enough, Metcalf's 28-yard touchdown on well-placed deep ball from Wilson put Seattle up by nine points midway through the fourth quarter. He finished with three catches for 71 yards on seven targets. Said Wilson: "He kept battling. I told him I'd keep coming to him. He's a star. He's going to be. He works at it.”

Russell Wilson completed 29 of 35 passes Sunday for a career-best 82.85% completion rate. He reached that mark with a lot of quick throws, especially in the second half. Pete Carroll gave credit to offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer for an adjustment the Seahawks made in going to more of a quick passing game to counter the Steelers' pass-rush, which notched four sacks of Wilson in the first half. Wilson wasn't sacked in the second half. "This was classic taking-what-they're'giving," Carroll said. "We had to put Russ really in command of the rhythm of the game and all the quick stuff, he did a great job on. He did a great job throwing the seam routes to [Will Dissly] for the two touchdown passes. Other than that, I thought Russ' rhythm really picked up and the sacks went away in the second half and really cleaned things up."

Rams up 27-9...

ESPN:

It probably ranks fourth or fifth on the list of things that have cost the Saints on Sunday, but they are really hurting themselves with drive-killing penalties. They're at nine penalties for 67 with 10 minutes remaining.

Ezekiel Elliott said he was ready for a larger workload in Week 2, and he got it. Elliott had 23 carries for 111 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown that helped salt away the Cowboys' win against Washington. He also caught two passes for 9 yards. He played in 50 of 65 plays Sunday after playing in 37 snaps in the season opener after missing all of training camp in a holdout. He had nine carries for 42 yards in the fourth quarter. “It felt good,” Elliott said. “It's normal. That's my normal workload, so I'm used to that. But it definitely feels good to be back out there and getting that normal workload.”
