Jeff Z:

It's one thing for Lamar Jackson to make the throws, make the right reads/decisions and take care of the ball. But one of his biggest challenges is going to be getting the offense in and out of the huddle in a timely manner.

Jackson has admitted on several occasions that the verbiage of the plays has been one of his biggest adjustments. To combat that, he's stood near offensive coaches on sideline during games and said play call aloud as it's relayed to Flacco. He'll need to be quick/assertive today.

You can’t be a moron and be an NFL QB. This is pretty disheartening to hear. Hope this isn’t a big issue.

I mean, I think he meant adjustment because he didnt have to call a 20 word play call in a huddle on college. Hes going from basic language to what should be considered a foreign language in a year. I imagine if you tried to learn a new language it would be a wake up call to you and you'd find it a bit overwhelming at first as well. I'm sure you don't consider yourself a moron.

Roethlisberger proves you can be a moron and be an NFL QB.
Fitzpatrick proves you can be a genius and not be one.

I’ve read this is the hardest part of adjusting to the pro game. I won’t read too much into it.

I really am going to try not to read too much into how he does today, good or bad. More interested to see how he responds to adversity, how his demeanor is throughout the game, things like that. He could have an awesome game and it won’t be until teams have tape on him and adjust their schemes to defend it, and see how he adjusts back, then we’ll know what we have.

If it was my job and I was making millions and I know I have a lot of question marks about my game and I don’t at least have that aspect of things done, at this point..yes, I would consider myself a moron at that point

Plus, Flacco getting out of the huddle hurt them a couple times a game through years 9,10, don’t want to think he’s a moron. Though he probably could apply himself a lot more.

“I just run the plays the call.” GTFO here. Enjoy the bench today.

How does Cincy not spy Jackson on 3rd down? Marvin Lewis has forgotten how to coach defense.

Jackson can throw for zero yards if he runs for 300 a game

F it. If they can do that every drive then I say go full high school offense.

Yeah I mean, you just really have to win this game by any means necessary.

Clearly you can’t win a super bowl with this kind of offense but we can deal with that later haha, if we get the win.

Good job getting away from the sack but that was an ugly pass and decision.

Fortunate to not make a big rookie mistake there. Not sure if he didn't see the defender or tried to loft it over him and just couldn't quite do it. Impressive to have escaped the sack beforehand though.

Defense having a great quarter. Good job to snuff out that promising field position.
