BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Quarterbacks

We're just a few months away from Maryland's season-opener against Texas, so it's time to start breaking down the roster position by position. In this article, I preview the quarterbacks.

Just want to see MD get through the year with Hill and Piggy both being healthy.  Where they are both available for every game. That would be huge.

BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Running Backs

In this article, I take a look at the deepest and most talented group for Maryland's offense this year - the running backs. Ty Johnson and Lorenzo Harrison III spearhead a group that could go 5 players deep.

The depth and talent at RB is silly.

I imagine all the true powers have deep RB pools as well, but this is certainly one position where MD compares with anyone imo.

BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Wide Receivers

In this article, I take a look at the most uncertain offensive position for the Terps this year. Replacing DJ Moore will be a tall task, so look for the team to turn to a large group of young wideouts (and tight ends) to produce this season.

I keep forgetting about Lewis. It's nice that he had that experience at Utah State.  Would think he would be able to contribute right away.

Like you, I'm also excited to see DJ Turner get a real shot this year.

It's too bad about Capehart.

Overall I feel okay about the WR's.  Yeah, you don't have a Moore who you know is going to produce for you... but in numbers you have a lot of guys who seem capable. The competition between them should push a couple of them to being consistent producers.

BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Tight Ends

No tight end caught a pass for the Terps last year. Under new offensive coordinator Matt Canada, that's set to change in a big way. This article takes a look at all 6 tight ends on the roster, and how things might shake out for playing time.

Your talking 5th and 6th string here........but I will tell you Schwob will see the playing field long before Roski. Schwob may honestly have the best hands in traffic on the team, great at catching it at its highest point. Problem is he can be like Edward Scissorhands with the routine catches. Neither will ever have to opportunity until they put on some meaningful size and learn  how to block.

UMTerps: Johnson Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

University of Maryland senior running back Ty Johnson has been named to the watch list for the 82nd annual Maxwell Award, it was announced on Monday.

The Maxwell Award, which originated in 1937, recognizes the top Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) player in the country regardless of position.

Johnson is the first Maryland player to be on the Maxwell list since Stefon Diggs (2013 & 2014). He's the first Terp running back on the list since Da'Rel Scott in 2010.

BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Offensive Tackles

Anchored by seniors Derwin Gray and Damian Prince on the outside, this crew of offensive linemen look to be the best Maryland has had in some time. Here, I look at the tackles on the roster this season.

UMTerps: Johnson Named to Maxwell Award Watch List

What should be "watched" is that will Ty get more than 10 carries a game.

Awful lot of talent at RB.  How would you want to see the touches distributed?

He definitely should be the feature back. He is the one on the Hourning, Maxwell, etc. lists. The true game breaker. Should be getting 20-25 touches a game minimum. I don't think he's ever gotten that many in any game since he's been at UMD.

BSL: 2018 Positional Preview - Offensive Guards

With both starters returning at the guard positions for the Terps, this is clearly a unit that will be relied upon heavily this season. In this article, I take a look at the 6 guards on the roster, and how I see the depth chart shaking out.

Ellis McKennie is ahead of Plummer and Hamilton...he would currently be # 3 at Guard.

Why is Jordan McNair's picture there?

After the Spring, Zack had McKennie on the 3rd team (at Center).

Not sure why Jordan was showing. Edit was made.
