This is going to be more and more of a thing. Apparently Triple-A is going haywire because they switched to MLB baseballs this year and the homers skyrocketing at that level.

Welp...

Mike Elias said Alex Cobb is expected to undergo season-ending surgery to relieve a hip inpingement. He also is dealing with some knee issues that may be cleaned up. So he is out for the year but is expected to be ready for the spring

But that 2018 team was soooo close to contending.

The Orioles can't develop pitchers and can't find success signing FA pitchers either.

Pretty much.

And most people thought it was a good signing at the time.

I admit, I thought it was a good signing at the time.  I still think it was a good idea, but it has been cursed since day one.

Just get healthy and be ready to go for real in Spring Training next year.

He pitched well in the 2nd half last year.  If he can get healthy, it's not crazy that he could pitch effectively again next year.

If you get him healthy, and he contributes great (helps you directly, or you could then move him).
If you get him healthy, and he doesn't contribute... then oh well.

Nothing really to say here, let's see what he looks like next Feb.
