Pretty crazy how poorly this is doing versus budget and expectations. They’ll be lucky to break even. Still interested but certainly not in a rush.
Already done 200M worldwide and on a pace to do
350+M and that’s considered a failure nowadays. Crazy.

Apparently it cost $350 million to make and market. Apparently movies have to make three times that budget to become successful.Already done 200M worldwide and on a pace to do

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Yeah that’s not good. Budget was $250 million and that doesn’t include marketing. Needs to make between $650-$750 million to break even. They probably expected to make between $1 - $1.2 billion. The stakes are bigger when you invest that much. Just like Justice League.

I wonder how much of it is Star Wars fatigue. Doesn't seem to be a problem with Marvel.
Maybe it's just a mediocre movie that none of the fans seemed to want.

All of the above.
By the time Episode 9 rolls around in 18 months all will be normal again.

This movie was good -- not great -- but good. I'll see it again.
How I rank the Disney Star Wars films:
-Rogue One
-The Force Awakens
-The Last Jedi
-Solo
There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I liked it.
Maybe that's because I went in, expecting to be totally disappointed. It was cool to see some of the things that are part of the Star Wars lore. And the meeting of Han and Chewie, was much better than the meeting of Obi wan and Anakin.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

Finally checked this out over the weekend with the fam. Binge Mode has been going through the Star Wars universe leading up to Skywalker. Their episode on Solo convinced me to finally give it a shot. It was decent, nothing great but not as bad as some made it out to be. Ehreneich did a solid job. I do wish they had stuck with Lord and Miller. After Lego Movie and Spiderverse I'm confident their interpretation would have been better than Ron Howard's

It was an instantly forgettable Star Wars movie and SW movies are not supposed to be that.
Easily the worst SW movie, for me. As bad as TPM and AOTC were, they had some very memorable moments, and their badness was definitely memorable.

AOTC was the worst, but it did have some decent battle scenes.
Solo...saw within the last year and I couldn't tell you what happened aside from Emilia Clarke looking hot AF.

I still enjoy Attack of the Clones over Phantom Menace overall but a fifth grader could write better dialogue than what is in AOTC.

Some are obviously better than others though.

Spoiler: He made the Kessell Run in under 12 parsecs.

But see, they're planting the seed for why Vader didn't just go down to the planet and get the droids himself at the beginning of New Hope. He could have ended the whole thing in 5 minutes, but unfortunately it was a desert planet and HE DOESN'T LIKE SAND!
