Side-trilogy. Won't be involved with the main saga. Still cool news and Johnson is a great director. It'll be interesting to see what a new non-Skywalker trilogy looks like in this day and age.

I'll watch as many good movies as they make.  Until one of these new ones stinks, I won't worry much about how many they are planning on and potentially burning out.

It's got the pedigree. Marvel has done extremely well for 17 years. No reason Disney won't do the same for SW. They've been very protective of it and the behind the scenes changes have proved that. Hiring talent such as Johnson bodes well.

What this says to me is that Disney is extremely happy with The Last Jedi. Probably gonna be pretty, pretty good.

But I'm a big fan of Rian Johnson and this allows him to continue to make the biggest of movies while also giving us original work from him. Best of both worlds.

I'm intrigued. The galaxy is a big sandbox.

I would guess it would take place much earlier, allowing potential sequels to what they are doing now and also freeing it from "this is Chewbacca's grandnephew" or whatever attempted fan service.

I dunno, how about a film with some primordial Sith/Jedi conflict. Or something with a bunch of gangster Hutts.

As long as it's good, I'm thrilled we'll keep getting Star Wars movies.

So....Wiess and Benioff hurried GOT to its ending so they could move onto Star Wars...now they're leaving SW to move onto Netflix projects...

These guys have bitten off more than they can chew and seem like control freaks.

JJ Abrams has his hand in so much stuff, doesn't have to write or direct everything he does, seems like W&B should have done similar things to avoid the hurried mess of an ending for GOT.

I am positive that Benioff and Weiss got a serious nudge out the door from Disney on this one... I'm sure them "leaving" was an amicable way to save face.

Maybe, but that's not a good look for Disney. They've kicked out a lot of talent hired for SW projects these last few years.

There was a very Indiana Jones-y feel to it.

Have only seen Episode 4, 5, 6, and 1. Haven't watched any of them in probably 15 years.

I'm usually late to the party, as in I binged GOT when the last season started. Same with Breaking Bad.

With Episode 9 coming, what order should I watch these in? I've heard there are a lot of opinions on this.

Don’t listen to the nerds. Skip 1-3. Watch 4-8 and you’ll be fine

I am through 2 episodes of The Mandalorian and maybe this gets out later but who exactly is "baby Yoda"?  We know its not actually Yoda as a baby (unless he is reincarnated).  Is this some kind of offspring?
