The burgundy coaches' shirts look pretty good. Too bad they cost $75 +whatever, though. No surprise.

Yup. Gonna buy me 4 Jerseys direct from China for that amount.

Borefest after Griffin's departure, with the Olympics on. I'll be paying more attention next week. Good to get a win, though, even if only 7-6.

So apparently starters on both sides of the ball are going to be in on "30-35 plays." We'll see what that translates into. Might be a full half, though I figure it may fall a little short. Depends on a lot of game dynamics. Really looking forward to watching more game action this time.

Yeah, totally sucks that Helu is hurt, and my boy Armstrong is CLAWING for a spot on the roster though. I think Banks is toast. I think the last 2 WR come down to AA and Briscoe probably.

I thought Neild was a great backup NT, and losing him stings a little bit too.

Yeah, really doesn't help things as they try to figure out who is going to be RB1. Always seems like Armstrong has to scrap to get to the table. Didn't get to see too much of Neild before the injury, but he was a known name to me, and it's too bad what happened.

Moving kickoffs back to the 35 really hurt Banks because the system with the 30 had been in place so long - over 15 years. Kickers got used to it, and got better (maybe not everyone, but enough of them). That plus the blocking rules they've phased in have made it much harder for guys to be just KR specialists, or KR/PR specialists. They need to bring something at their core position, and Banks hasn't been able to do that enough. He has never had that many game snaps, and he has missed some catchable balls, and not been able to make some balls catchable because his size hasn't allowed him to take on bigger DBs (which is everyone, but you know what I mean). Another way that his size has been a liability is his visual distinctiveness. Because he hasn't often been used, whenever he's seen, opponents figure something's up, and will move to neutralize him. This preseason is probably it for him unless something unusual happens; moving forward, if the team finds any sources of exceptional speed, they will have to carry a big enough frame (no smaller than Moss).

Yeah I was really hoping Shanny would evolve and realize he's got a HR threat starting RB on the roster and use him, but I don't get that vibe right now. That hurt us a few times last season.

I really like AA, good speed and size, he's like our Mike Wallace, last year he got doubled down all the time and didn't have a guy that could get him the ball consistently. I'd love to see what he could do this year. I thought signing Morgan was a little excessive in that regard. Garcon, I agree with completely, but I think Hankerson and AA could have easily been the #2-3 guys with Moss at 4. Just me I guess.

Yeah I really like Crawford and I think he makes it not only as a CB but as a KR guy too. Banks just isn't a good enough WR I think. Hopefully we'll learn more tonight though.

Defense has been sliced and diced quite a bit and haven't gotten as much penetration as they should. Hope Orakpo and Meriweather aren't too bad off. Drop by Wilson there kept Chicago in the mix for that FG.

OL needs to do more. Bit of a mixed bag for Griffin, partly owing to that. That lost fumble should tell him keep two hands on the ball when pressured. He's had to show that mobility, and it's there. Has a few more things to learn to maximize the effectiveness of it. Morris had a couple nice runs early, good stuff there. Paul had a bad drop.

Banks doing OK with returns, but I haven't seen him in the offense. Rocca's first punt was disappointing, as they really had an opportunity to play the field position game early. The defense ended up in tatters anyway on that drive, but it would have been harder for Chicago to drive from the 5 or the 8 than the 18. Decent FG by Rackers.

Going to the gym at the half. Hopefully someone can catch the second half action.

Found myself getting mad at the team for how bad they look in a preseason game. Going to take a time out for a bit and maybe tune back in to see the bubble guys fight for spots.

Just looked out of sync. OL looked bad and the injuries are driving me crazy.

So much for that two-minute drill, eh? Banks takes the punt return 91 for the touchdown! Seventeen-10.

I wasn't pleased, either.

Geez, way to let him get field position right back.

He's gotta do SOMETHING or he'd have been in the first cuts. Shanny is giving him every chance he can.

This defense is some ish. Wonder if trying to catch any of the rest would be good for my health....

I'm thinking not. Going to watch the Hunger Games instead...much less stressful.

Turn the movie off and wow, what a 4th quarter. Cousins really looks like a player. Poise and accuracy to spare.

Briscoe looks like he could be a heck of a slot WR. Robinson seems like he's having a great game.

Just need a defensive stop here.

I didn't get to see any game action when I was at the gym (tonight was a total waste of time in that regard, but that's another story), but I did catch some of Briscoe's junior season games (in person) before he came into the league. I hope he's around long enough for me to catch him on TV this preseason. He has some skills, and could be a good guy to have in the back half of the depth chart. His speed is all right, he can elude, he can run routes, and he can battle DBs. Like I said before, it's been awhile since I've seen him play, but enough of that must still hold true if he's been able to get some regular season game time.
