I chat with our very own Mike Randall about what has gone down thus far in the Ravens offseason.

Good format despite the negativity. :)

If everything goes right with the team staying relatively healthy and the offense actually becoming decent, 10-11 wins is within reach. I think the defense will be that good. We've seen teams with average offenses and great defenses do well in recent seasons. It could happen for the Ravens in 2017.

7-9 wins is probably more likely because there is a lot that needs to go right.

Good format despite the negativity. :)

You can blame the Ravens for that. :)

This season is going to be all about what we don't know...in other words, we need the unknowns to step up. If they do, the ravens can win the SB. If they don't, they probably struggle to be a 500 team.

I'm staring to wonder what the hold up with Mangold is. Money, length, physical? Seems like the Ravens are the only team interested, and have been for months, but still nothing.

I have very low hopes for the offense if they don't address O-Line. We've seen it year in and out here. Dallas has showed us how important a strong O-Line is.

Reports are saying it's money. Mangold wants more than teams are willing to give. Maybe he has to get paid X amount for him to be willing to keep playing??

Isn't it also an OTA thing? Don't some of these guys wait this part out because they don't want to have to do the voluntary and mandatory mini-camp stuff?

I'm concerned that if they add nothing the line is in trouble too, but I'm not ready to demand action from them when no one else in the league is signing anyone either.

Good article.

They're a solid 8-8 team.  Maybe a couple of 4th and 24s from a 9-7 record.

I keep hearing analysts say, "They want to build an O-line like the Cowboys" as if that means anything. Doesn't every team?

They lost their RT and C and drafted a couple of mid round guards. Whoopie.

They're going to need a vet on that O-line whether it's Mangold or someone else. They can't be done there... can they?

There was an article saying he is still rehabbing and hoping to play this year. That means he won't pass any physical yet to me.

I am pretty sure Shack is thinking of PBR.

Mangold strikes me as a guy who will be happy to retire if he doesnt get the amount of money he wants. I'm encouraged by the philosophy of the Ravens. It's exactly what I purposed back in January. Make the defense as strong as possible and fill in on offense. I just don't know if they've filled in adequately enough. I want a strong running game and the RBs are meh, especially with Dixon out to start the year. Who knows if and when he'll really find his groove. Plus the O-line will be young and need time to gel. I think we are a year away from having an offense that can compliment what we hope will be a truly great defense

Anyone have interest in Cyrus Kouandjio? The Bills released him. Didn't do much for them, but he's a young guy at a position of need.

Still holding out hope for Mangold too, though I think his impact would be pretty limited at this point in his career.

All about the young guys/unknowns stepping up this season.

Zrebiec:

With Yanda not practicing, Ravens had Urschel at RG, Jensen at center, Alex Lewis at LG. Hurst at RT; Stanley at LT

Harbaugh was very positive about Ryan Jensen who was lining up at center. Feels like he's gotten a lot stronger and he's worked real hard

Based on the above... would think they are projecting Yanda to move to RT, and Lewis at LG.

I think that is a possibility, but I'm not sure we have enough info to surmise that quite yet. I've been skeptical of the notion that Alex Lewis can play RT for a while. I think they like Lewis at LG. In an ideal world, Siragusa can start at one of the guard positions, Lewis at the other with Yanda at RT, but they might also want to keep Yanda at RG. I guess Urschel is in the mix there as well to start at one of the guards.

Yanda at RT has made sense the entire offseason.

Stanley, Goose, Jensen, Yanda, Lewis, in that order left to right.
