Ynoa has been pitching well.  Right now, the lowest ERA in the division with a minimum of 8 innings.

Hopefully they can figure out more for the BP, then move him to the rotation.

Maybe flip him and Hess.

Straily.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Screw it Hess and Straily, put Ynoa and Ramirez both in the rotation.

I haven't been able to see much of him, but the few snippets I've seen look like he's potentially developed some command.  It looks like his fastball has only sped up a little, but there is a 2 MPH slower difference in his curve and slider, with a slight uptick in his change.

I liked him a couple of years ago and didn't really understand why he hadn't had the results in the majors.

What does it look like he's done different this year?

Fine with that.

I'm not astute enough to notice the differences but I really appreciate insight like this from people who know more about the finer details. Glad you're posting more often!

I give fangraphs all the credit - I'm just another fan that pays attention when I'm interested.  I haven't been able to watch as much as I would like, but I just remember him getting roughed up before, even though he looked like he had the stuff.

Fangraphs actually grades him out pretty high, but then only gives him a FV of 40....weird.

Another follow up...Ynoa was hit last night.

This might look like a regression, but looking at the video it appears the Angels just did a good job of hitting.

Ynoa hit his spots on every one of his pitches, unlike the horrible location shown by Bundy earlier in the game.

Pretty excited, he's getting a chance to start.

I guess it doesn’t hurt but he’s been awful in relief so I don’t have high hopes he’ll be better in rotation.

Had 9 appearances.

4 outings of 0 er.
2 outings of 1 er.
1 outing of 2 er.

Two back-to-back outings where he allowed 3er and 4er, which blew up his numbers.

Id rather keep him where he is, because I think thats where he can best help this team...but certainly understand the need for starters. Wouldn't surprise me if he was reasonably effective short term.

He's a free agent after declining an assignment to the minors.

The #Orioles reinstated Alex Cobb from the 60-day injured list. Gabriel Ynoa is a free agent after declining an outright assignment. Their 40-man roster still has 36 players on it.
