That's easy: just stop expanding the number of TV commercials... and ban the increase in commercial time over 2 minutes each...

I hate it when they blame the game for TV commercials...

Lol. Horseshit. Just gotta decide if losing a little bit of ad revenue is worth reducing game times.

Ridiculous that after a touchdown/xp there's a commercial than kickoff then commercial. Nix that break and also nix the commercials on most time outs (and reducemost time outs to 30 seconds).

Greed nth. Before you know it, downs won't be numbered, but sponsored. So will FGA's, XPA's, etc.

Stopping the clock on every first down is just dumb. Keep the clock running. If you feel you have to do it then just do it the last 2 min of each half.

Some of the games are long because some offenses throw 60 times a game and combined scores are over 90 in a lot more cases than the NFL games.

That's a lot of incomplete passes, a lot of scores, a lot of clock stoppages. Too many comericials but nothing to do about that given the greed level.

I can save them 8 minutes easily. Cut halftime from 20 minutes to 12 minutes like the NFL. Yeah, yeah, the marching bands....c'mon college football. You've already killed just about every other tradition you ever had in the name of money, are marching bands really going to be your line in the sand?

Exactly, which is why it should come as no surprise that the Big 12 teams were the leaders in game times. Maybe they should emphasize teaching these kids how to play better defense. They can start by teaching better tackling techniques.

Yep. No surprise Texas Tech always has long games.

I agree with Branden. Enough the first down clock stoppages.

Fewer commercials would be fine too...the game itself has bigger issues though.

The game itself is just too long. Even without the commercials. Just find spots to keep the clock running Dont they also stop the clock .  when a RB runs out of bounds or a WR runs out of bounds with possession. Clock doesnt start again til the ball is snapped. NFL restarts the clock as soon as the ball is spotted.

No, college restarts the clock now until it's inside 2 minutes of each half.

It's not dumb, and there's no need to change that... unlike fabricated reasons for commercial breaks, it's part of the game...
