Hasn't started in 12 days.  Some type of injury or just skip a start to monitor innings?

Young players develop at different paces, but it is important IMO, that Sedlock take a step forward this year.

Melewski:

Buck said Frederick RHP Cody Sedlock will see team Dr. Michael Jacobs this aft. for further exam of shoulder issue. Went on DL yesterday.

I would hope Sedlock would be impressive in the GCL even if it is for a rehab stint.

You just want him healthy.   If so, you figure he finds his ability at some point.

Key is getting regular work, and showing consistent progression.

Not so optimistic about what "his ability" was, even before this shoulder injury which is the scariest thing possible.

Obviously you give him every chance, but my guess is he never reaches the majors.

I gave up on Sedlock last season. Waste of organizational time and resources. Move on and admit you made a mistake.

Giving up on him is fine for a fan. But the team releasing a prospect while they are still controlled and free is a very bad idea.

Yeah. Obviously not going to live up to his draft slot would indicate but could still be useful at some point. Long or middle relief maybe.

Look at DJ Stewart or Tim Beckham.

He was a consensus first rounder and many said it was a good pick.

He wasn’t a mistake.

Most picks don’t pan out..it’s the biggest crap shoot of all the drafts.

If he isn't a mistake, what is he? Six year organizational fodder?
