A very bad day for military demonstration aircraft as both an Air Force Thunderbird and a Navy Blue Angels jet crashed today (6/2). The Thunderbird pilot survived, the Blue Angel pilot did not.
An Air Force Thunderbird jet crashed Thursday in Colorado just after a flyover at a graduation ceremony for Air Force Academy cadets where President Barack Obama had spoken.
Air Force spokeswoman Lt. Col. Michal Kloeffler-Howard said the pilot ejected but there was no information on the pilot's condition. No injuries were reported on the ground.
SMYRNA — One person has been reported dead after a U.S. Navy Blue Angels jet crashed following takeoff during a practice flight around 3 p.m. Thursday, according to a county fire dispatcher.
Larry Farley, Rutherford County fire chief, said his dispatchers were told one person was killed. A U.S. Navy spokesman confirmed about 3:30 p.m. that a Blue Angel jet was involved in an incident.
