If we do a politics forum again, is there a way to be able to ignore a forum and not even have it pop up on your screen?

I’ve been asking for this re: the wrestling thread for years!

Right, I didn't realize this forum was for children.

Won't be adding a politics forum.

- Will continue to allow social / political discussions whenever they tangibly touch sports.

- Welcome to discuss social / political issues locally which brush up against business and development.

- I'll avoid doing what I did above giving my thoughts about Mayor Young.

The next year is going to be miserable everywhere talking about the election.
Truth is I could open the board to all talk, probably increase our traffic..... but screw it, I just don't want it.

Where is that J-Law gif when you need it?

I don't believe you. But we won't get to know, which I'm more than fine with.

No I would. I can’t stand the talk anymore.

It’s unbearable. I have defriended and unfollowed so many people at this point.

I like too many people on this site to want me to see their opinions. Some I know and it doesn’t bother me in terms of respect for the person. I have literally lost respect for people I have known for years and I just don’t want to deal with it anymore.

Plus, this is a very liberal board, so I just don’t want to be involved. I was before but don’t want it again.

Btw, I personally understand why Chris is against it but also feel he should have it.

I get why he doesn’t want to though .

I noticed RSR has a politics section. I was curious if other local sports message boards dabble.

Clicked on it out of morbid curiosity and I'm very very glad that we don't have it here. It just invites hate and vitriol, and it's a big game of "gotcha". There is enough of that going on in the Lamar threads ;)

I agree with Chris that if it's related to sports or Baltimore and it's development, it's enough. We 100% don't need a thread on the impeachment hearings, or what dumb stuff political figure X said today.

This country has never been more divided, not since the civil war. Prolly a good idea not to have a politics thread

I'm not sure that this is a very liberal board. I think you could argue that it slants that way, but beyond that, I think reaching that conclusion is more based on how far right one is than on reality.

There are significant problems with having the Baltimore comments, largely from one perspective, while leaving out other perspectives imo.

IIRC there has always been differing perspectives on things like the convention center, a new arena, that kind of development. Those discussions have been allowed to take place, and Chris says he's continuing to welcome that. City operations can't really be talked about without blending a little into politics.

I don't think, for example, what the mayor recently said that was discussed needed to be here.

Saw a car this morning in Fed Hill with a manhole cover thrown though the windshield. Fun times.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Cooking a turkey is annoying — especially when you want to check the internal temp. In one spot it reads 170 and at another 150. And with all the food bore illness issues you can never be sure.

Ugh

He had surgery this morning.
