So I decided I am going with PS Vue. The ultra package or whatever is more expensive than other places (Sling, YouTube) but it offers everything that I need and, even adding on Amazon and Netflix, will still save me over $100/month. Gonna sign up for Prime this week, get a firestick shipped to me, set everything up, and then tell DirecTV to pound sand.

Congrats and good luck. Good thing is if you don’t like it for whatever reason there are no contracts involved and you crawl back to cable no harm no foul. But I think you’ll be happy.

One final question, the only thing I'd watch with the $10 sports thingee is Red Zone.  Can I just simply cut that out once the NFL season ends?  And  then add it back on once it starts again?  I assume I can, just want to make sure.

Yeah you definitely can. That’s what I do with HBO and Showtime depending on what shows are on.

I thought HBO and Showtime and all their on demand stuff automatically came with the Ultra package?

It does but I do the cheapest option and add-on HBO or Showtime at different times. Just using that as an example of adding and removing things month to month no problem.

Windscribe is legit! Didn't realize a VPN could be so easy.

So I’m all up and running. How many different people can use the same Prime account? Netflix? Nba and MLB?

Just asking out of curiosity of course

Also my Alexa voice remote can’t pick up when I’m saying when I’m searching for something in the text box. Otherwise she understands everything.

MLB doesn't have any limitations as far as I know. Prime I'm unsure about. Netflix depends on your subscription.

Yes, same VPN. It was up to 70 dollars for the lifetime last I looked so you better move quick.

Not sure about Prime but Netflix limit is 2 at a time unless you get the HDR upgrade then you get 4.

Hey Bob, got a question about HBO on Vue.

So I set the DVR to record Hard Knocks tonight, and when I went to start watching (about 10 minutes after the show started) it only let me start watching from where the program was live, and it wouldn't let me hit start over.

Am I doing something wrong?  Or is my only option to watch right when it starts or wait until it becomes available on demand?

I tried downloading HBO GO but that doesn't work with Vue apparently and I'm obviously not going to pay for an HBO Now subscription.

Thanks.

Same thing happened to me last night. Any other time I've recorded something and jumped in half way I was able to click down and hit 'start from beginning' but maybe part of their deal with HBO doesn't allow that for some reason. If you wait for it to end you can start it from the beginning on your DVR/On Demand.

For those who have YouTube TV, you may have noticed there was an extended outage last Tuesday night. If you're a subscriber you can get a free week (basically a credit on your next month of service) if you request it. Just go to the address below, enter the email that you subscribe to the service with, and submit. You'll need to do it by the 24th.
