Got a puppy last night, surprised the kids with it today.
Rant: potty training a puppy.

Crate training is such a great way to do it.

What kind of dog

Half poodle, half cavalier (?) - called a cavapoo.

But yeah that’s what we’re gonna try to do. She just peed outside for the first time. Exciting lol.

What’s really funny is how prepared you can get for a puppy after you have had a kid, or vice versa.

It teaches you the patience needed for either, that’s for sure.

My kids are 8, 11 and 12. During the past 2 weeks, at some point all 3 of them randomly and individually told me I was their best friend. I don't know what I've done to deserve this sudden outpouring but I'll hold onto it when they hate me in a few years.

Took my wife to her doctor this morning, end up coming down to the hospital to induce labor. Our baby boy is going to be 6 weeks early, today or tomorrow. But all else seems okay.

Can’t wait for the day I can tell him what was going on the day he was born.

Hope everything goes smoothly! Induction can take a long time. My son was a similar case, ~4 weeks early, wife went for a check-up, doctors didn't let her leave, next day we had a baby. Best of luck.

Congrats Mike!

My 2nd son was 6 weeks early.  I was on the phone with my boss at work - my wife kept calling me and I kept getting paged over and over and over and I was getting super annoyed.  Finally another guy stuck his head in my office - "Hey Dan - that's your wife on the phone - she's having a baby."

Wait. You’re name isn’t Glenn?

Was there any issues? Need the NICU or anything? Ours isn’t looking like that yet, but he doesn’t want to eat (are we sure he’s mine? Lol) won’t latch, plays with a bottle but doesn’t drink much. So if they don’t get his blood sugar up he might have to go NICU. Hoping to avoid that, obviously.

I don't believe he was in the NICU - he was kept in the hospital nursery for more close monitoring for a couple of days and our hospital stay was slightly longer than with my other 2 kids, but no major issues.  Biggest issue at the start if I recall was keeping his temperature up, he had some issues with that.  Honestly it's been so long and those days are such a whirlwind, but I'm pretty sure that's all accurate haha.

Good luck to you - those pediatric nurses/doctors are amazing people.

Yes they are amazing. Temperature seems to be the issue now, but they are moving him to the nursery like you said.

The price of a barrel of oil fell below $20 yesterday. I heat my home by heating oil so I checked my supplier yesterday. Sunrise Energy out of New Freedom PA.

$1.78 A GALLON

I have 2-250 gallon tanks and promptly ordered enough to top them off. Gonna save a lot of money compared to last year when I ordered. I can't remember when it was below $2 a gallon.

That's why it's a $1.78...

Yea, I filled my jeep up and it was under $40.

Couldn't believe it.
