Pho. Anytime - but especially when you're sick.

Sushi.

You have to go to Fusion in Cockeysville (if you haven’t already been there).

Never been

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

It’s so good.

At my old job, we had a lot of clients that we would take there and these guys loved sushi. They went to some of the most expensive places in the country for sushi and they all would say Fusion is the best they have had.

It may be my favorite restaurant.

Fusion is really good. Don't like it as much as Edo, and it's not really comparable to Azumi... but it's really good.

With the Os stinking, I haven't been on here much lately, but thought it was a good time to share something.

I work Fridays as a high school football referee here in TN. My second round playoff game this week is over in Knoxville -- Lipscomb Academy at Grace Christian. Knowing nothing about the teams, I did some Google searching and quickly found that Lipscomb's head coach is Trent Dilfer.

Now to suppress that urge for a selfie before the game ....

I’m guessing a pregame selfie with one of the coaches is frowned upon if you are a ref?

Probably not the best look. :)

Bought a house today!

It'll be a huge renovation in Severna Park, so likely won't move until April or so. I will greatly miss Baltimore and Canton, but we've got baby gear jammed into every crevice of our rowhome. Just need more space and a yard, it's time for the suburbs.

Sub anti-rant: Day one was a major success...found original hardwood floors in what appears to be really good condition underneath the terrible vinyl flooring. Can refinish those rather than replace with new and probably save like $10k!

Know your desire to do it yourself... but if you need a painter, we're partnered with Certa Pro of Severna Park. Let me know.

And if you want new flooring...  and need someone, our partner Mercer can help there too (did our floors this week).

And congrats!

Severna Park is a nice area.

Good investment property if you got it for a good deal.

Thanks everyone!

We are pretty excited. We bought a place that has barely been touched since the early 70s aside from upkeep. My wife is an architect so she's doing all the design. We won't be doing any of the work ourselves, had to hire a GC for the loan. The reno will cost about half of what we paid for the house, so it's pretty major. I'd call it a full gut down to the studs of about half the house and a resurfacing (floors, walls, ceilings) of the other half.

Did you go with a 203k loan?

Not a 203k specifically, but it is a construction loan.

Got it from a local bank so it's pretty light on restrictions. Now I just need to keep my contractor (and my wife, likely the bigger threat) on budget.

Good luck with that.

I bet when you are done, the house will be worth a lot, especially in that area.

For my next house, I kind of want to do what you are doing. Hard to imagine I will be able to buy a house that has everything I want.

And your kid(s) will be very happy to be in the burbs vs the city.

I just can’t imagine raising a kid in any major city, especially Baltimore.
