Just about everything.  The story telling is bad.  Completely checked out when they brought Jon Snow back to life.  The high sparrow stuff was BRUTAL.  Season 7 was a nightmare too.

Its probably easier for me to list the things I do like: Tyrion, The Hound, Brienne, and the fact that the show only has 6 more episodes.

Its probably my fault because I don't like fantasy based stuff.  Its good world building I guess, which isn't easy, but Man in the High Castle pulled that off too.  Doesn't make it a show worthy of *everyone* freaking out over.

Not even Emilia Clarke naked listed???

I am pretty sure Shack is thinking of PBR.

I will say, the Hodor thing got me.  There was a giant dude on the boat that we called Hodor, never understood why, and it all came home for me when he held the door.

Danny is hot dude but meh.  I can navigate to porn for that.

Edit: the translator chick is hotter.

Pretty much.  I'm in the vast minority on this one and I know it.

The storytelling definitely suffers, mainly due to the sheer size of the source material. The books are better IMO. Simply for that fact.

With that said, everyone has an opinion. If you don't like fantasy based stories, you probably won't like this all that much.

I think if the show was much longer, it could be just as good at the storytelling.  But it would have to be 24 hour-long episodes to fit in all the stuff from books 3 through 5 into a single season.  The books get thicker and thicker, and the story remains great, but if you have to summarize it into ten hour-long episodes, you're gonna have to cut out, consolidate, or alter a lot of it.

I've never been a big 'fantasy' fan....  I hadn't ever read the books.... was late on the show (think the 1st year had aired before I saw the first episode)...  I was expecting Lord of the Rings, DoD, and I was like... "Nah..."

What hooked me about the show was the detail, and vastness of the world... but less the fantasy and more of the human elements of power... attempting to maintain, attempting to capture.

I think the storytelling and the world that Martin and now the show has built is pretty amazing.

The world GRRM has built is definitely incredible. I mean, he has a huge book based soley on the fictional history of the world he created. What he's done is not an easy thing to do.
