Based on that contract (basically being yearly options), I'd be happy for him to be back with the Ravens.
I don't think the Ravens have a better offensive threat on the roster. Maybe Perriman becomes his equal or better, but he isn't currently.
That said, don't think realistic with current salary obligations or looking forward for the Ravens.
You keep talking about wanting to see the younger players in a year you believe to be over..why would you add Smith and essentially block Perriman and Aiken?
I tend to think you know what you have in Aiken by now. Nothing great. Plus, you wouldn't be putting Torrey right in the starting lineup. He can be WR 4 or 5 behind Perriman, competing for a job next year.
Im not really advocating for Torrey. I don't think he was great by any stretch, or worth what he got. But maybe if you are planning for 2017 you want as many options as you can. Maybe the next OC if Mornhingweg isn't kept is a Coryell system guy, Torrey would be a better fit. As are Wallace and Perriman. Smith out of the picture.
I've always thought Torrey had great success as a slot guy the few times they used him there. Probably wrote about it at least twice. If Wallace and Perriman are outside with Torrey at slot and our receiving TEs, not a bad AC system of talent.
Before we get ahead of ourselves, the team needs to really look at themselves and see what they want to do next year system wise on offense. Kind of like they are fitting round pegs in square holes right now.
