ESPN: Home Run Derby Bracket

http://www.espn.com/...top-things-know

Say what you will about the derby. I usually love it when there are big boppers in it hitting the ball to places the ball usually doesn't land. Putting a clock in there was a jolt to the contest that most people didn't expect to like, but turned out to make it a little more intense.

However, this years derby, looks 100% boring outside of Bryce Harper.

Harper is the only participant with a homer over 450 feet. Schwarber is the only one with a ball recorded with a note worthy exit velocity (117.2mph). Everyone else doesn't have must see power. Gonna be a lot of lower deck everyday homers.

Jesus Aguilar vs. Rhys Hoskins

Alex Bregman vs. Kyle Schwarber

Bryce Harper vs. Freddie Freeman

Max Muncy vs. Javier Baez

I'll probably DVR it and fly through it the next morning. Not devoting 3 hours to this. Thought about trying to go to it if Stanton, Judge, Trout, some other boppers were in there. Not a chance with that lineup.

Side note: When I looked up the Statcast on the top home run distances this year to see if anyone in the derby was on the list, I found another interesting name.

3rd longest homer hit this year went 479 feet and was hit off of Clayton Kershaw. Who did it?

Instead of the HR Derby, they should have a President's race with Angelos and Lerner to settle the MASN dispute.

Looking forward to seeing Nick...

The AS Game (and World Series) had a different feel prior to Interleague.

Trout earned that walk.  Like FOX said, what else can you say about him? Best player in the game. Maybe best in decades.

JD Martinez...  I know the general feeling here was we didn't need to be involved.  Or that it wasn't realistic. Quite the year.

Feel like Sale doesn't get recognized quite enough.

Baez into center...

The best player in the game makes it 2-0.

Manny's next and likely final AB in an O's uni will either be in the 4th (if the AL gets one guy on base) or to lead off the top of the 5th. Batting 7th, I assume they will go to one of the 2 remaining AL SS's pretty quickly.
