Talent continues to improve across the board.

Lot of questions everywhere though.

Testudo Times: Maryland football enters spring practice with a loaded group of running backs

Testudo Times: Maryland football’s receiving corps has plenty of production to replace entering 2018

Testudo Times: With the starters rehabbing, Maryland has an odd QB situation

Sadly, one thing we won't get to watch this spring is WR Tahj Capehart who (stop me if you've heard this before) tore his ACL and is out for the year. Considering the massive amount of production they have to replace at receiver (albeit from just 1 guy) that is certainly bad news all around.

Where did you hear this? Not seeing the news anywhere.

They're talking about it on Testudo Times. Based on the sources, it sounds legit. Would expect next time Durkin is available to the media he will update that and any other injury news.

It's just spring, but hearing since practices resumed after the break that Rayshad Lewis is working out on the other side of the ball now.

On one hand, WR is easily the biggest question mark and concern on this team, and switching someone who at least has one season of decent WR production at the college level doesn't make much sense on the surface.

On the other hand, "Ray" Lewis playing defense has a certain ring to it for some reason.

Not sure what took so long, but here's the official announcement on Tahj Capehart's torn ACL.

Testudo Times: Rayshad Lewis is Maryland's newest 2-way experiment

Sounds like they're not committed to having him play on one side of the ball or the other (or both) yet. Just taking a look at him on defense. Should know where they plan to move forward with him by the end of spring.

Sorry if this seems like I'm picking on the initial sentence.... but Bell didn't dazzle me.

I did appreciate his hands were often tied due the QB situation (and overall talent limitations).

What I liked best about him was the commitment to the running, and his youthful enthusiasm which I think had to help recruiting wise.

I'm good with the change on-field.

On the defensive side, I'm glad there is growing depth at DT..... and hopeful the duo you mentioned are locking up the starting jobs.
Get pressure up-front, the secondary really might excel.

Know they weren't doing much, but was glad to see Piggy and Hill were doing something this Spring (know they weren't in the team drills).

Agreed about watching the WR's...  I'm also hoping to see a TE mentioned with the passing game for the first time in quite awhile.

Jake Funk getting first-team snaps as the fly sweep motion guy. Jahrvis Davenport and Jeshaun Jones starting outside.

Offense moving with a lot of tempo to start. Very little huddling. Mix of under-center and shotgun formations.

Canada really spreading things out for Tyler DeSue. Both offenses go 3-and-out in their first series.

Seeing a lot of Gus Malzahn-style quick-huddles from Canada's offense.

He's also using his huge stable of running backs as H-Backs, going in motion on sweeps and heading into the flats on passes. Just saw a formation with 5 running backs, so safe to say he'll be using all the backs on the roster.

Very nice deep pass by Bortenschlager to Davenport in the end zone. Interference by Rayshad Lewis on the play.

And it took a little while, but we have our first false start with all the different motions Canada is showing.

Jake Funk and Tayon Fleet-Davis getting a bunch of snaps at the H-Back position with the first-team offense.
