Lions are a decent if not great team with a good QB. This is a game the Ravens should win, but it is not a must win game because of the NFC opponent.

Watch this be the week they try to open up the passing offense against a real good secondary. If Joe tries to force a few balls he's going to get picked off.

I don't like the matchup. Lions 27 - Ravens 16

Darius Slay is one of the games best shutdown CBs and Glover Quinn has been a pretty good FS for a while now.

Miles Killebrew and Nevin Lawson are a couple of young players making strides.

Against our receivers who couldn't separate from a secondary sitting in chairs, doesn't seem like a good matchup for throwing the ball around.

They aren’t that good vs the pass though.

DVOA has them 14th and the raw numbers have them worse than that.

Isn't Joe due for a big or at least solid game?

Even in his shittiest years, he's had a couple of games where he lit up a bad or mediocre defense. Last year was pretty brutal and he still had that game where he absolutely wrecked the Dolphins.

It's hard to believe this offense can continue to be this inept without at least stumbling into a decent game every now and then.

Maybe he should save it for next week, though.

He just needs to hand the ball off. Detroit is 23rd against the rush in yards, 31st in TD's allowed.

Need to get running early and often and use the PAP to attack downfield. Joe should be happy with that.

Oh yeah. I'm not advocating for coming out and chucking it all over the place.

Just saying, at SOME point he's gotta put up a clean 275 yards, 2 touchdowns, no turnovers kinda game. Right? RIGHT??!

I understand why the offense is bad but I can't really figure out why we're the worst offense in the league

The offense was always going to be bad.  Bottom third to bottom quarter.  That was the plan.  They were bad last year and they didn't make any effort to get better.  Replaced Smith Sr with Maclin, Wagner with Howard, Pitta with Watson, and Juice with Woodhead.  None of those are clear upgrades.  Made no other additions, even through the draft.  Only hope of being even average was if Joe played well, like he did in the second half of last year.

But Joe hasn't played well, so the offense only has the potential to be a 22nd-28th type rank offense at best.  Then, on top of that, the injuries to the line (especially Yanda, obviously) and some of the skill position players have made things even worse, down to a bottom 3 type offense.
