I guess I'll start. There's a significant gap after the top 3, but I was a little surprised we all liked Oklahoma as much as we did. Same goes for Oklahoma State.

Michigan was the "first one out" and only by one vote, but I thought they'd get enough votes to crack the Top 12 (even though I didn't vote for them myself).

All of the receiving votes teams interest me.

Michigan / Florida this week is pretty big right off the top. Nice win for either conference.   Gators could win the SEC East.  Michigan has great talent, but is young.

Louisville gets Clemson at home in a few weeks. Looking forward to that one.

Other teams outside our 12 which interest me:
- Virginia Tech, Miami, Georgia, Oregon, Nebraska

Obviously FSU / Alabama is huge...  loser could still reach the Playoff though.  Winner gets that huge W in their back pocket as bank for later.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Oklahoma State pushed a little bit by Tulsa.  We will see what happens in the Big 12 overall. Going with OU despite their changes seems the safe bet.

Think Wisconsin is in real good shape schedule wise.

Someone actually didn't vote for Alabama?

Group think much? I don't think they are winning it all.

So what criteria did you all use? I pretty much based it off of who I thought the best 12 are right now, which is pretty much a crapshoot without having seen anyone play.

What team not ranked in the top 12 gets into the BCS bowl game(s) picture?  There is always at least one off the radar team that has puts themselves in position to make the playoff or, at least, be in one of those major bowl games.

I like USF this year.

Balance of best on paper and projection based on schedule.

Well what does the 71 mean next to their name. That means of the 72 votes (12x6) 71 had them in the top 12 right?

Not sure about that but I believe they are cumulative votes. Anyway, I'm the one 1st place vote for Ohio St.

Virginia Tech. They have an interesting opener against WVU in Landover Sunday night. The rest of the schedule is fairly favorable. Biggest hurdles right now are Clemson, at home, and at Miami. I don't think they'll be in the FSU/Clemson/Playoff range yet, but I think they could be in the discussion to grab a spot in a major bowl.

I have no problem not putting Bama 1. I thought that meant one person didn't have them in the top 12 at all.

It's more likely I'm an idiot.

I assigned points in reverse order of where we each ranked them. That's how the AP/Coaches do it. So there was a maximum of 72 points possible, and Alabama came one short, since Ricker had them #2. And the number in parentheses is how many 1st place votes they got.

Ok. Gotcha. So we all had them 1 and Ricker had them 2 so they get 71 points.

Right. And starting next week the max posts will be 84 when Steve Birrer joins. He's philosophically opposed to preseason rankings, so he's Kaepernicking it this week.

Oh come on, suck it up Steve. I hate them too. Probably more than you, but consistency for this is very important, IMO.
