Hey everyone, here I'll be adding interesting links about the Big 10 from around the web.

ESPN takes a look at how everyone overestimated how long it would take Penn State football to bounce back from the Jerry Sandusky scandal.

"How Penn State reached 'the other side' five years after sanctions"

7 Most Difficult Stretches of Games (Big 10)

BTN's Tom Dienhart weighs in.  Mercifully, Maryland did not make this list.

Nice work Jim...    know it's a little disrespectful to Wisconsin / Nebraska / Northwestern / Minnesota; but does feel like the power is in the East.

Should be a good race.

How Ohio State / Penn State / Michigan does against the West (and Michigan State and maybe MD) will be interesting.

Would love to see the Terps get the W vs. Penn State in the season final, and screw the Nittany Lions out of any larger goals.

Thanks a lot Chris.  I don't think there's any question the East has the power.  While Wisconsin looks strong, I have not seen them ranked ahead of any of the East's top three-usually between the 12-18 range in the national polls.

I would also love to see the Terps steal a win over Penn State, but it would be a real shocker, even if it is in College Park.  I'd settle for them being competitive-this year.

Interesting that made no mention of former Raven Jah Reid's lawsuit filed against his old school (UCF) that I mentioned in the preview. Though Reid's lawsuit is only in FL state court and not a Federal case like Spielman's, so Reid's suit wouldn't quite set the same precedence if he won as Spielman's could. I agreed with the premise in the SI article that for both schools the best outcome could be a settlement.

Rutgers OC Jerry Kill hoping to stay healthy as he returns to coaching:

On a healthy path, Jerry Kill returns to coaching

Some very early bracketology from CBS Sports to whet your appetite.  Michigan State clearly the team to beat in the Big 10.  Maryland projected to squeak into the dance-I think people are sleeping on the Terps for next season.

Too early for Bracketology?  Don't be ridiculous..

Michigan's 2007 loss to Appalachian State put the Big 10 Network on the map

SI's Pre-Season Football Tow 25

Not as much in love with the Big 10, has Florida State ahead of Ohio State, Oklahoma State #4 (?!)

ESPN thinks Ohio State a bigger lock for the playoff than Alabama

CBS ranks all FBS schools 1-130

Terps at #64

College Football's lack of black head coaches

Out of those #130 schools, only 14 have African-American head coaches.

College Football and school don't mix-who knew?

Wisconsin LB Cichy tears ACL, out for season

One of the leaders of the Badgers defense goes down.  BTW, their defensive coordinator if former Ravens' DB Jim Leonhard, who has quickly ascended up the coaching ranks.

Athlon picks 10 biggest BIG upsets this year

I'm a bit skeptical, but Terps fans would love a couple of these

What Michigan vs. Florida tells us about each team

Alabama-Florida St.rightfully gets most of the hype for opening weekend, but this is an important game earlier in the day.  A Michigan stumble out of the gate would be a problem for the Wolverines

I could see both happening, which is to say that if either happened it wouldn't be the biggest shocker in sports history.

The Michigan game is at home and they are returning exactly 1 starter on defense -- I have them finishing third in our division.  Not saying we will win, but stranger things have happened.

As for the Texas game, the Longhorns are a fairly big question mark coming into this season, however the game is in Austin and they have a legit QB.  I think it's more likely we get our doors blown off than we win this game but, again, stranger things have happened.

I would be surprised if the Terps won at Texas, but even though we play Michigan at home, I would be absolutely shocked if we won.  I'd be thrilled if we stayed within 20 points of them given what happened last year

All eyes on the team Jim Harbaugh rebuilt

Another third=place finish in the division could get the natives a bit restless

America's Best College Town Meals

The Big 10 is well represented on this list

Jerry Palm's picks for every bowl game

The man who popularized college hoops' RPI takes his shot at college football's version of bracketology.  Lots of Big 10 love, but not for the Terps-guess he doesn't see six wins.

Terps football #1 in the nation-in toughest schedule

Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State also ranked in top 10 toughest

Love it....at least under the current circumstances. Gives the Terps a lot of opportunities to show progress and maybe open some eyes in the college football world. Of course it could just as easily go the other way too, so I hope they don't fall into a rut if they have a couple of rough showings early. While they may not say so publicly, I'm betting this is great motivation for the players and coaches too.

It will be interesting to see where their SoS ends up after the season. I doubt there have been many, if any, instances where the team with the toughest schedule headed into a season actually played the toughest schedule when it was all said and done.

Their schedule is tough for sure but have you seen Cal's schedule? Or Syracuse? Yikes.
