Not many backup options in that time slot unfortunately. Cal @ UNC is the only other Power 5 matchup, but that doesn't get my juices flowing, and I think the Tar Heels will win comfortably. Wyoming @ Iowa could be interesting. Might be the best chance to get a look at Josh Allen this season.

Being in the MWC we get to see Josh Allen a fair bit. Interesting prospect from an NFL perspective. He is a big dude, has a terrific arm, and can run. But at times his decision making is suspect. He tends to force throws a fair bit figuring his receivers will outplay the defenders. And he gets away with that approach often enough to make the risk worth it. But that doesn't play well in the NFL. Will be interesting to see if he tames that instinct this fall. If he does he could go high in the draft.

Pretty fair chance I will see him play in person when WYO visits BSU. We are looking for a different outcome than when we faced them last year!

I think I will lock in the Wyoming-Iowa game as my noon backup.  Could actually be a pretty good game if Allen puts up numbers.  Iowa is not built for a shootout. so if Wyoming gets up on them the Hawkeyes could have some trouble.  Don't think Cal will give UNC much trouble.

IOWA is currently a 12 1/2 point favorite at home versus WYO. The Cowboys defense will have to be really stout, especially up front, and Josh Allen will have to have a near perfect game otherwise it won't be close.

That's an outside the box, interesting and logical idea. I like it a lot. Those games almost always suck. Is the money opportunity in these championship games too big to pass up though?

I would think adding 4 games that are likely to feature better matchups and are guaranteed to have championship implications could make up enough revenue, and then some, to spread around to the conferences that are giving up a CCG.

Hadn't really considered that. I like the idea.
